A New Strategy

Katie had finally reached the hospital happy to finally see her dad and Dr.Loomis we're doing much better than before.
"I see you guys are doing much better" She said with a smile on her face.Ben was ecstatic to see her as she ran over to hug him the moment was so touching that it even made Loomis smile.
"I missed you my angel"Ben said,as he kept squeezing her tighter in his arms hoping she would notice his humor.
"I'm so glad you get to come home today" Katie said.
"You really miss me huh? This is just like when you was a little girl always waiting for me at the door waiting for me to come back from a shift".Ben kissed her cheek and they both smiled at each other,Katie has always been in favor of her father over her mother who doesn't really hate Ben but disagrees a lot with his choices especially when it comes to raising Katie.
"Do you got the car outside?" Ben asked.
"Actually no but mom is on her way to pick us up" Katie replied.
"Dammit not your mother,with the way she back talks me no telling what that woman is gonna say when she hears about what's going on"
"Dad I promise you she'll be okay she won't make a big deal about it,I actually think she's outside waiting for us now"
"Fine let's go, and Loomis you come to there's actually something I wanna show you".
Dr. Loomis looked shocked and curious about Ben having something to show him but he hope it could be something about Michael.
"Yeah of course I'll tag along I won't mind" Loomis said.
As they were heading out the door Anna had stopped Ben before entering the elevator.
"Hey I just wanna know that if you ever have any questions or anything about basically anything that happens around here or any medical records I can definitely help out" Anna said.She gave Ben a piece of paper with her number on it and to his reaction he was happy and excited.
"I definitely will be calling and thank you again for being so helpful" Ben said.he gave her a huge hug and went to the elevator.As everybody got outside Katie's mom was already there waiting for them.
"There you guys are I thought for a second you changed your mind about staying" she joked.
Trust me Karin if I knew you was coming I would've extended my visit in there Ben said.He slid into the passenger seat as Katie and Loomis were sitting in the back and they headed back to the house.
"So Dr.Loomis how long you been a psychiatrist?"Karin asked.
"A very long time ma'am,so long that I actually started thinking of a new profession".
"What were you two doing anyway that put you in the hospital?" She asked.
"Nothing just investigating" Ben said.He knew Karin was being nosey and trying to figure out what's been going on in the town,she's probably been hearing about the weird stuff that's been going on.
As they got back to the house Ben gave Katie the keys.
"Honey do me a favor and let Mr Loomis in for me".
"Sure no problem" Katie replied.As Loomis and Katie walked out the door he looked over to see Karin staring at him with anger with rage in her eyes.
"Sighs...Okay let me hear it Karin"
"You damn right I'm gonna let you hear it what the hell is going on Ben? And don't bullshit with me".
"Listen Karin there is a mental patient on the loose and he's after Laurie".
"Laurie?,and what are you gonna do about this?".
"I'm working on it I don't need my ex wife bitching at me right now".
"So now I'm bitching?,did you forget that our daughter is her best friend? What if anything happens to her?".
"Nothing is gonna happen to Laurie nor Katie nor none of their friends just leave me the hell alone Karin!".Ben got out the car and slammed the door and stormed to the house.
"You better make sure nothing happens to Katie cause it'll be on you!" Karin shouted before driving off in anger.
As Ben got inside the house Loomis was in the kitchen looking over the wanted posters that Ben made.
"I think we can still use these posters you made you got anymore?" Loomis asked.
"I actually got something better than that" Ben replied.He went into his closet and pulled out a map and a box of supplies.
"What's all this stuff?" Loomis asked.
Ben laid out the map on the table and started marking areas.
"Loomis have you been noticing that Michael is only staying within areas between his old house and the high school Laurie goes to?" Ben asked.
"Actually no I haven't not at all".
"And where Johnny had that little run in with him it wasn't far from the school and where the gas station is that isn't far from the barn,he is staying between 1 and 15 miles apart from everything that's been happening,he's not going anywhere farther than 16 miles".
"So he is constantly moving cause he knows we are on his trail but he doesn't wanna move too far from Laurie?".
"Exactly,he's making sure he stays close by to wherever she's gonna be at".
"This is crazy! Good work on this Ben this might be the thing we need to finally flush him out".
"Now you're talking,we gonna booby trap his old house that's what this box of supplies is for,and that's not all".
Ben ran up the stairs and came down with guns and a lot of ammunition.He handed Loomis a revolver as he took his shotgun.
"How many guns do you have?" Loomis asked.
"Enough for these crisis," Ben replied.
As Ben was cleaning his the phone ranged,as Ben went to answer it he noticed it was somebody from the school.
"Hello is This Ben?"
"Yes who is this?"
"Hello sir I work at the school actually your daughter is one of my students and I was wondering if you could come by the school? A situation had happened not too long ago"
"What happened?"
"Some wacko broke into the property and stole some information from one of your daughters friends Laurie strode?"
Ben eyes had widen up in shock.
"Laurie?,did you see him?"
"I actually hid under my desk he didn't see me but a few students here said they seen him tearing open her locker on the way out can you please come and take a look at it?".
"Yes of course I'll be there" Ben hung up the phone and grabbed his coat.
"Did something happen to Laurie?" Loomis asked.
"No cmon we gotta get there fast" Ben said.
"Dad where you going? Was the phone for me?" Katie asked.
"No no it was just some stuff that I gotta check"
"But I heard lauries name"
"I'll explain it later,cmon loomis lets go"
They headed out the door as Katie sat on the staircase looking confused until she realized the map on the table.
