Today is Friday, and while Gray should be having a game tonight, he doesn't. Since they're in playoffs the games have been sporadic. The other teams have to play certain teams in a certain order so that means that not everyone plays every week. So, Gray has first Friday night in a long time. As we were sitting in our 6th period I kept thinking about what we were going to do tonight. We've had a game to go to for so long now that I don't know what to do with myself. First it was football, and that was intense, but at least she was with me. Then we started basketball season. I say we like I do anything other than just give moral support.
Our teacher was droning on about something but I didn't know what, so I just kept day dreaming about my night. I wondered if we should go to the movies since we didn't get to the other day. Then I wondered if we should just go drive around the water front and have a deep conversation. When our teacher finally stopped talking Gray scooted his desk closer to mine and gave me this big dopey smile.
"What're we doing tonight?" I smiled. Why were we always thinking the same thing.
"I don't know. I was thinking either a movie, drive down to the water front, or umm well I couldn't think of anything else." Gray pursed his lips and then said
"All good options, all good options..."
"But?" I interjected.
"But, I kinda want to go to the soccer game tonight?"
"The boys are playing?" I questioned. From the tone in my voice Gray made a face.
"No. The girls are."
"No."
"Come on. Please?"
"She probably doesn't even want me there."
"Yes, she does."
"How do you know?"
"Because I talked to her."
"You what?" I kind of screamed this and ended up gaining the attention of our classmates. Gray gave me a look then rolled his eyes at them.
"I saw her when I was walking to my athletics period the other day and she said that she's playing here tonight and that we should go." At this my mind was racing. Did they talk before or after she and I had sex? It had to be after I'm assuming but I can't be for sure.
"You already told her we would go, didn't you?"
"I didn't tell her for sure yes or no, and it's not like I talk to her all the time." I just rolled my eyes.
"Can we just go to half of it? Soccer games are always so long." I whined.
"Fine. But I want to go to the second half so we can see the final score."
"Fine."
"Fine."
Once 6th period was over Gray walked to his last period and I walked to mine. We don't have the same 7th period, but it's okay because it's not like we could leave right after school anyways. Gray still has practice today, but since it's a Friday I doubt they'll make them stay the whole time. Once last period was done I started walking towards the gym to watch Gray's practice like I always do. I was already rounding the corner to go down to the gym when I saw her standing in front of the trophy case with Charlette and the other girls. I can never really remember their names. I wasn't going to stop or even make eye contact as I passed them but she completely stopped their conversation and started walking towards me. Behind her I could see Charlette making a face. I almost smiled, but I didn't.
