Saya macam frozen for a minute.

Repeat that.

Jerome and Braxton attended a convention in Park Hyatt Sydney together?

Braxton saya tidak hairan sebab dia terbang dari Gold Coast to attend the convention.

But Jerome.

Kenapa Jerome never told me he’s been in contact with Braxton? Bukan saya pernah tanya dia kah tu?

I can’t remember his answer. Maybe he did say something, tapi memang bukan tentang dia berjumpa dengan Braxton. I would’ve remembered that little fact if he did said it.

Kalau mau bilang dia lupa pun, he could’ve told me after Braxton called me last night.

Saya tidak sedar saya sedang mengerutkan dahi.

“You okay, Saph?” Ivana tanya saya. Ini lagi satu, bestfriend Kylie yang baru start bercakap sama saya sekarang memandai sudah panggil saya Saph.

“Yeah, I’m great.” I shook my head to clear my mind. Pantas saya ubah topic. “So you and Kylie selalu hangout also?”

Lame question, Saph. Kan dorang bestfriends. What bestfriends don’t hangout when staying in the same city? Especially if they are just within minutes of each other.

Ivana rolled her eyes. I widened my eyes.

“I was in the fashion industry, remember?” Wajah Ivana nampak memalas.

Ah, yeah. She said ‘I did.’ Then kami walked to my table.

“I was fired.” What…?!

“Uh, you know how jobs are.” Saya bilang, trying not to make her feel bad talking about her being fired.

“Kylie fired me.” Huh? Bestfriend dia yang memecat dia?

Saya tidak berani mau tanya kalau dia dipecat kerana performance kerja.

Ivana sambung.
“You know why?”

Saya menggelengkan kepala. Memanglah saya tidak tau kenapa. Saya tidak pun tau apa-apa tentang dunia fashion, apakan lagi dunia fashion Australia.

“Because of Jerome.” Huh? Buat saya tidak sedap hati ni tau.

Apa kaitan pemecatan Ivana dengan Jerome?

“Jerome asked to fire you?” Saya tanya dengan mata membulat.

Ivana shook her head.
“Nopes.”

So?

“Ada beberapa kali Kylie too busy with work, she asked me to layan Jerome while she’s working.” Ivana bilang.

Layan? Layan macam mana?!

“Jangan you buat muka like that. Hahahaha!” Ivana ketawa. “Layan Jerome like ganti Kylie for lunch, dinner or at Lush.”

Lush. Entah apa tu.

Boleh juga main ganti-ganti kah?

Tapi lega pula hati saya dengar. Until…

“Then one night di Lush, I just broke up with my boyfriend and got really really drunk. Yang mabuk sampai can’t even walk you know.” Uh, okay. “That was one of the nights Kylie suruh saya pergi Lush to kasi kawan Jerome because she had to fly to Auckland in short notice.”

Saya menjadi pendengar setia sajalah.

“Jerome mana tau mana saya tinggal. So he brought me back to his condo.”
