They start taking all of our weapons, and Fili and I have our knives, axe and sword taken.

Even our boots are checked, and of course they find two knives there. My elf checks my hips, legs, back, arms, and basically everywhere else you could keep a knife. He produces about fifteen.

When we were little, Fili and I were really into knives. We thought they were the coolest thing ever, so we collected them and kept all of them on us whenever we traveled. We still both carry a ton of knives with us at once.

I stop paying attention until the elf checking me is about to reach into my coat. I growl and back away.

"Hey, don't touch me there." His face flushes red and he steps away from me. I look over at the others just as an elf takes a picture from Gloin's coat.

"Hey! Give it back! That's private!" he yells.

"Who is this?" the blonde elf asks smugly. "Your brother?"

"That is my wife!" Gloin spits.

"And what is this horrid creature? A goblin-mutant?"

"That's my wee lad, Gimli!" Gloin says. I've met Gimli before. He's a nice little kid.

I look over at Fili, who's still giving knives to an elf. He looks over at me and we have to refrain from laughing.

"Where did you get this?" the blonde elf asks, holding up Thorin's sword.

"It was given to me," Thorin replies.

"Not just a thief, but a liar as well."

The elf yells something in elvish and we're led through the forest in chains. As Bofur passes Thorin, I hear him whisper something.

"Thorin, we haven't found Bilbo!"

A feeling of dread sets over me as I'm led away. What if he was killed by that fall? What is something killed him after he fell? An endless list of possibilities runs through my head, but I can't focus on that right now.

We're led into the elven kingdom with our hands in chains. I won't deny it, the kingdom is beautiful, but I don't appreciate the restraints very much. If we weren't chained up, Fili, Kili, and I would go exploring in this Elven city.

The elves lead us to a wall filled with dungeon cells. As Dwalin is tossed into his, I hear him yelling along with all the other dwarves.

As Fili is shoved into his cell, the elf pulls out one more knife and he sighs heavily.

"Come on," an elf barks, leading me away.

"No! I'm not leaving my friends," I growl, pulling against them.

"What do we do with the she-dwarf?" the elf asks.

"Put her in the cell with the other blonde dwarf," another elf responds. They shove me into Fili's cell, and I scoot closer to him.

"Kili?" I call.

I see him shoved into the cage beside us by the same elf that sort of saved him earlier.

"Aren't you going to search me?" he asks the elf. "I could have anything down my trousers."

"Or nothing," she responds. The door closes, and Kili chuckles.

"Dude, come on," I moan.

Fili laughs and I punch him in the arm. We're joking around, but I would probably be losing it right now if it weren't for Fili being beside me.

He stands up and starts slamming into the bars, like many of the other dwarves. I soon join him, alternating in our attempts.

"Leave it! There's no way out!" Balin yells. "This is no Orc dungeon. These are the Halls of the Woodland Realm. No one leaves here but by the king's consent."

I plop down on the floor of our cell and stare at the bars on the door. Man, I hate cages.

Fili sits down as well, and I rest my head on his shoulder.

"Fili, look," I say, pulling a knife out of my jacket. His eyes widen and he grins, pulling out one as well.

"I have one too. Just in case. How did you manage to keep that?" he asks.

"I embarrassed the elf that was checking me. He wasn't allowed to check my coat," I reply, twirling the knife in my hands. "We could use it to escape."

"How?" Fili asks.

I look at the bars, then back to my knife. I then toss it on the ground and groan in frustration.

"I did not think that through!"

Fili laughs and wraps his arms around me. I rest my head on his shoulder and find myself dozing off.
