I lightly groan.
Face deep into the pillow.
If don't move maybe I'll fall back asleep.
.......
My right arm extended out placing my fingers to the volume button on my phone.
Three.
Two.
One.
An alarm sets off ringing only once, I pressed a button to turn it off before another begins. My hand returns to bed and slips back under the pillow. My eyes slowly open viewing my bedroom at an angle. I remain still in this position, chest down and my arms seemingly hugging the pillow close to me. I take a deep breath in and slowly exhale it out, don't think I slept very much. I turn over and laid on my back looking at the white ceiling above me.
The sun beaming through the windows giving it's natural lighting, I shut my eyes thinking maybe I could force myself to sleep. It's just a matter of time before they call me.
I kick my feet off the bed having the blanket slide off of me. A yawn escapes me as I raise my arms up to the ceiling to stretch-- feeling a crack or two. My body is still feeling the beating I've gotten from a friendly sparing match with a friend. I rotate my right shoulder to stretch and get somewhat back to its normal place, it's not so bad. I can deal.
I remove the blanket that still covered me and stood up on my feet walking to the stairs of my open loft apartment. It's been a couple weeks since I've slept here, It's weird that I get sleep in a hotel room then my own bed.
At the bottom of the steps I stop and let out a yawn and scratch the back of my head. My eyes examine the room seeing my leather jacket spread out on the singular chair-- must've been tired that I just thrown it on there. The rest of the loft is clean, I'm rarely ever here to make it a mess. Beside me rests on a table is an ipod connected to a docking station. This isn't mine, probably Redfields.
My hand reaches out and pressed the play button, a song sings out-- I don't think I've heard this. It's got a catchy begining. I looked at the name of the artist.
Franz Ferdinand, 'Take me out.'
Hmm. It's not bad.
I continue walking through the apartment heading to the bathroom while removing my t-shirt. I toss it on the couch beside the jacket to be put back on after or later, depending.
I reached the entry way but halt when I hear my phone go off upstairs, it's not an alarm. Someone is trying to reach me. I turn around quickly heading back the way I came.
I reached my phone but just as I picked it up it stopped ringing. I checked the caller seeing it was from Redfield. A text came through seconds later.
'See you tonight. Same location'
I slightly scoff with a chuckle. I toss my phone on the bed and make my way back downstairs.
The song is reaching it's end, another one plays after, as I walk passed it I see the artist.
Spiderbait, 'Black Betty.'
Not my kind of style of music taste but it's very energetic and pushing me to workout.
Perfect to get my morning started.
(Time Skip)
I let out a grunt as I raise myself up on my last pull up. I let go of the bar wedged in between the doorway feeling the sweat dripping down my back. I grabbed a small towel and wiped my forehead and my chest dry. Music continues to play through the iPod, haven't been paying much to it.
I adjust my black gym shorts tracing the waistband, I don't remember these being loose on me. I head to the bathroom switching the light as I enter, I twist the knobs of the shower prepping the water temperature. I took a glimpse of myself in the mirror, this is the most I've ever seen myself look this in shape.
Enjoy it while it lasts, Kennedy.
(Leon)-" Heh."
My fingers went under the waistband of my shorts about to tug them downward when I hear a knock at the front door. I make my way through the apartment to the entrance, I flip the bottom lock and unhook the chain opening the door. Behind it was a woman with long brown hair and green eyes, her freckles were faint but still noticable. Her eyes wonder gazing at my lack of clothing, Her brows furrowed annoyingly towards me.
(Leon)-" Good morning, Anna" I say casually hoping it would lighten her mood.
(Anna)-" Your music's too loud. Keep it down." Nope. She's still upset with me.She says holding back that she wants to yell. Curse Me out maybe.
She turns leaving the doorway.
(Leon)-"Anna" I call to her. She stops and looks at me leaning her hip to one side and crossing her arms. I didn't know what to say to her, she already knows. Its that day of the week she told me about couple weeks ago she was studying for, one that could make or break her.
(Leon)-" Good luck on your exam." Her eyes lightened but she bites the inside of her cheek.
(Anna)-"Like you care." She turns to walk away again entering her apartment next door to mine. She slams it shut behind her.
That's what I get I suppose, Anna use to be nice to me. I say 'use to' cause the way she looked at me didn't read 'friends' to me. She now sees me as an asshole neighbor.
Even if she's upset with me, I hope she passes her exam.
I take a breath in and exhale out, I close the door locking it up. I walk over to the music and shut it off hearing nothing but silence and vehicles honking down below. I head towards the bathroom to finish what I started.
I tug the gym shorts down and started my shower.
