Chapter Twenty: They fly at night; you'd better run.

Ashley paces back and forth biting at her fingertips, they're probably chewed to stubs. I will find her and bring her back to us. Cant imagine how she's feeling right now. 

The radio attached to my waist goes off, I have to let Hunnigan know that (Y/n) was captured. I detached the radio waiting for the call to come through. All I saw on her end was black and white static.

(Leon)-"Hunnigan, what happened? The transmission got cut off." I thought I heard someone else's voice other than Hunnigan. A sinister laugh came from the radio before an image appeared.

(Leon)-"Salazar! How'd you--"

(Salazar)-" We've jacked the line. We didn't want you telling everyone any unnecessary information."

(Leon)-"Where's (Y/n)?!"

(Salazar)- "Aw...So she fell into one of our wonderful traps. We'll make sure we find her. Don't you worry about her."

Like hell they will.

(Salazar)- "Oh yes. I let our miserable insects out for some exercise down in the sewer."

(Leon)- "Thanks. That should keep me company. Cuz boredom kills me."

(Salazar)-" I look forward to our next encounter... In another life." He ends the conversation and the radio goes silent.

(Leon)- " Shit." I attach it back to my waist and equip my handgun by unclipping the magazine to check how many rounds are left in it. 

(Ashley)-" I heard him say, 'Insects.' What kind of insect?"

(Leon)-"It could be just about any kind, firefly, mosquito, but what we've seen around here might be a little incomparable to what we're used to." Her eyes widened letting her imagination run wild. I don't know what kind of insects Salazar let loose but We'll make it through them.

(Leon)-"Lets get going." I took the lead opening the door and entering in first, Ashley seemed frightened to take a step. Walking in just around the corner was an opened door on the ground leading down to the sewers. I jump down bending my knees and landing on my boots, I look up and Ashley was hesitant to come down.

(Leon)-" I'll catch you."

(Ashley)-" That's not what I'm worried about." She kneels down and jumps. I catch her in my arms and put her down gently. She immediately embraces herself rubbing on her arms for warmth.

A constant drip echoes as we begin walking through the leaking hall. Nothing but puddles of water with each step I take. A loud metal clank bounces off the wall sounding as if something pushed it over. It startles Ashley.

(Leon)-"It was probably just the wind." That didn't even sound believable.

(Ashley)-"Yeah, right." She lightly scoffs.
