Chapter Twenty One: Chain of Events

Ashley enters in the next room and I go in shutting the door behind me. I flick the lock making sure the others don't get in. I let out a quiet exhale closing my eyes for just a quick second to collect my sanity. I can feel my heart racing a thousand miles, the cultist upgraded their security from bows and arrows to a heavy mounted machine gun. Every encounter is something extraordinary. 

(Ashley)- "This is so messed up." Her tone of voice was shaken. 

I turn to see what she's glancing at, the room we have entered looks to be out of place. This doesn't look right. To the left of me on the wall was a mounted deer head with chairs lines up against both sides of the walls. A switch panel stands in the middle of the room in front of four picture frames on the wall. 

The farthest frame on the left show a picture of what looks to be a man being beheaded from a guillotine, the one to the right of it looks to be depicted to be Jesus Christ hung on a post. The last two frames were of  women hung up on a hook. 

(Ashley)-"What kind of people put something like this for others to see?" 

(Leon)-"Ones that sacrifice for their own beliefs." I walk to the switch panel seeing four buttons. Engraved under it were, The sacrifice of six lives shall make way the truth path. 

(Leon)-"This is a puzzle." 

(Ashley)- "Puzzle? What for?"

(Leon)-"The sacrifice of six lives shall make way the truth path. 'Truth path' must mean a way out from this room." 

(Ashley)- "So we flip these switches? We don't know what these will do." 

(Leon)-"Only way to find out." I pushed the first switch and the two frames to the left flips horizontally, the picture has changed and it now matches the last two frames of the women. I focus on the frames giving it a good hard look. 

Oh, I get it.

The six sacrifices are the bodies in the portraits.  

I press the second switch turning three frames from the left mix matching the frames. I press switch four and the frames on the right to the beheading and the hooked woman. I press on switch three switching the frames from the right to a pattern. 

Beheading, hooked women, beheading, hooked women. 

(Leon)-"Six lives shall make way the truth path." I repeat. The wall of the picture frames begins to shift to the left, revealing a green metal door behind it. I look to Ashley and she looked impressed and puzzled herself. 

(Leon)- "Come on." I equip my handgun and went ahead first towards the door. As soon as I went forward I come to a stop seeing Salazar on top of a balcony.
