~Battle Royale~

As expected, Steve Successfully made it inside of the Helicarrier...little does he realize, he has company.

Steve was confronted by Bucky the moment he got there and the two of them spent a moment glaring at each other. Bucky had been convinced that Everything he thought he remembered about Steve Rogers was a lie. He was programmed to think that Steve was all a part of his biggest mission, there was no such thing as friendship...according to what he was told by Alexander Pierce, Steve was dead to him.

In his mind, Bucky knew he had to stand his ground, and keep the launch going. He couldn't let Captain Rogers win this fight.

"People are gonna die, Buck. I can't let that happen." Steve says to the soldier.

Bucky stared at Steve coldly, and didn't even dignify what Steve said with a response.

This was his mission. He wasn't supposed to fail.

"Please, don't make me do this." Steve says taking a step closer to his old friend.

At this point, Steve knew that Bucky wasn't willing to stand down without a fight. Steve threw his shield at Bucky and the two of them started battling each other.

As the fight continued, Steve managed to bring up the targeting blade system from its dock, but as Bucky attacks him the chip falls from Steve's hand. Bucky then proceeds to stab Steve in the shoulder with his knife, and then grabs the fallen chip. but Steve manages to get the knife out, grab Bucky by the throat and throws him down before getting him into a headlock.

"Drop it! Drop it!" Steve warned Bucky.

As Bucky continued to hold the chip, Steve breaks his arm and holds onto his throat until he passes out and lets go of the chip.

Steve then grabs the chip and rushes off before Bucky comes to. It was a painful thing for him to do to his long lost friend but Sam was kind of right...as of now, Bucky was the kind of guy who had to be stopped.

"One minute." Agent Hill says to Steve as he desperately tries to get back up to the Helicarriers to get to the targeting system.

The minute Bucky regains consciousness and realizes Steve got away, he pulls out his gun and shoots Steve in the left thigh and then the right shoulder, but Steve still manages to climb his way up.

"Thirty seconds, Cap!" Agent Hill says warning Steve once more.

"Stand by." Steve replies as he gets the chip out.

"Charlie..." of course right as Steve is about to accomplish his final task, Bucky shoots Steve in the stomach and he falls. It took Steve a moment to re-gather himself but he successfully finishes the job and places the chip where it should be.

"Charlie locked." Steve says. Within minutes all of the targets had gone offline...and shrunk down to just three.

"Okay, Cap, get out of there." Hill then gets the Helicarriers weapon targets to open fire upon each other, and Steve knew that as long as Bucky was still somewhere lingering he wasn't going to leave the helicarrier alive regardless.

"Fire now."

"But, Steve..."

"Do it! Do it now!" Reluctantly, Hill makes the Helicarriers open fire on each other with Steve and Bucky still inside the Helicarrier.

Steve looks at Bucky below him realizing Bucky had been stuck under some rubble down below and he couldn't leave him behind. Steve knew he would have to confront Bucky at some point...not only as the Winter Soldier, but as a friend.

Steve had gone to help Bucky from being trapped under the fallen rubble although he himself has been injured.

"You know me." Steve says.

"NO, I DON'T!" Bucky yells, lashing out at Steve in anger striking him with his metal fist.

"Bucky, you've known me your whole life." Steve says before gettin struck again. He had to continue the mission although he had already failed...no matter what Bucky had to finish Steve, but Steve chose not to fight back.

"Your name...is James Buchanan Barnes."

"SHUT UP!!" Bucky shouts hitting Steve again.

"I'm not gonna fight you." Steve says as he takes off his mask and drops his shield out of the Helicarrier. Seeing Bucky like this hurt steve more than the actual blows Bucky was delivering to him.

"You're my friend."

Having heard enough, Bucky then charges at Steve and throws him down to the ground.

"you're my mission." Bucky says coldly before beginning his assault. He then mercilessly punches Steve in the face multiple times.

"YOU....ARE....MY....MISSION!" Bucky screams between every blow to Steve's face.

"Then finish it..." Steve replies challenging Bucky.

Bucky then held his fist up, and began to hesitate.

"Cause I'm with you...to the end of the line."
Bucky took a good long look at Steve and paused...maybe the Winter Soldier did know who Steve Rogers was after all.

Before Bucky can say anything, the bottom of the Helicarrier crashes into the bottom of the glass dome, sending Steve down into the river below as Bucky watches while hanging from a metal bar. Bucky knew he had to go in after him...so he jumped.

As Steve slowly sunk into the bottom of the river, Bucky made quick to swoop in and grab Steve. Bucky swam until he made it to the shore, and pulled Steve out of the water and dragged him onto the shore.

Before anyone could notice Bucky saved Steve's life, he takes a look at Steve and at that moment, everything became clear as day, so he had to know more...Bucky then walks away from the scene, making the rest History.
