Bucky had been woken up by the most unbearable sound...his daughter inconsolably crying, the only way he could calm her down was with a sippy cup with milk.

Ever since Ivory turned two a few short weeks ago, The nightmares seemed to get worse.

It happened almost everyday if not, every other day when Ivory would have nightmares and wake him with her crying. He hated that the only place he couldn't keep her safe, was in her dreams.

At this point Bucky didn't even bother making her sleep in her own bed some days because she would always find her way to his bed anyway, but for her, he would do anything for her. He always did his best to care for Ivory ever since she was dropped off at his apartment door when she was only a few weeks old.

That child has made him feel on top of the world some days, and underqualified on other days, his only goal in life right now other than staying out of the eye of the government and hydra, was to protect Ivory at all costs.

"What's the matter?" Bucky asks the child curled tightly into his side, drinking her milk.

"B-Bad d-dream." She says immediately laying on top of Bucky clinging to him tightly. Ivory didn't have many words but about 40 percent of the time, Bucky knew what Ivory was trying to say.

"What did you dream about?" He asks smoothing her wild curls out of her face.

"B-Bad men, daddy bye-bye." She sniffles crying harder. Whenever she dreamed about the "Bad men" she usually meant that she dreamed about bad people taking him away, or herself being taken away from him.

"Did Ivory go bye-bye?" Bucky asks out of curiosity to try and gauge how scary her dream may have been.

"No-No, just daddy bye-bye." She explains hanging onto Bucky tighter.

"What about Ivory?" Bucky asks. "We're you alone?"

"Y-Yeah." She said sadly wiping her eyes. If she didn't dream about the "Bad men" she dreamed about Monsters.

"Listen to me baby doll, I will never let anyone hurt you...I would never ever let anyone take you from me, you're safe with Daddy...Do you understand me?" He says to her rocking her back and forth in his arms.

"Mm huh." She said.

"Wanna eat..." She said sadly rubbing her eyes. He sighed heavily knowing he'd have to take her out for food, Ivory waking up hungry was another thing he hated. The two of them went to bed hungry a lot of the time because he's been low on money. All he had in his refrigerator was a gallon of milk for her, 2 gallons of water, and a carton of eggs that consisted of only 3 more eggs.
