"Hey! Ivory Lee, you get down from there...Now!" Bucky shouted across the room to Ivory who had been using the kitchen chair to stand up. Ivory giggled as she used one leg to try and lift herself onto the chair. "What did I say!?"

Ivory cocked her head to one side, staring at Bucky with a sly grin plastered onto her face. Recently, Ivory had learned to pull up to stand and she was damn near close to walking. Her new thing was climbing, and she was now at an age where she was learning to test limits with Bucky.

"Get off of that right now!" Bucky says getting up to move Ivory from the kitchen, and into the living room where he was. "Daddy said No!" Bucky says wagging his finger at the child.

Ivory looked up at Bucky with a sad pout on her face and started crying.

"Stop it, that's so fake...I see no tears." Bucky chuckles trying not to give in to Ivory's fake crying.

"Dada, Dada..." Ivory whined, sadly lifting up her arms to Bucky.

"Okay, I'm here..." Bucky says giving in, lifting Ivory onto his hip.

"You can't climb on the furniture baby doll! You'll hurt yourself." Bucky explains rubbing Ivory's back. Ivory rubbed her sad eyes and leaned her head on Bucky's shoulder.

"Daddy loves you...now you play right here where I can see you." Bucky says as he pulls out his notebook, leaving Ivory to find her own fun somewhere in the living room.

"Uh-Uh!" Ivory whined patting her forehead, and reaching her arms out for Bucky. That usually meant she wanted Bucky to give her a kiss on her head which he had only recently become accustomed to doing.

"Kiss?" Bucky says pressing a gentle kiss to Ivory's forehead, giving her the most gentle hug before placing her down.

"God, I love you kid." Bucky whispers to himself watching as Ivory ventured off to go play.

Journal #4
Entry # 277

My word of the day...Growth.

Having the capacity to grow is a concept that is still so hard for me to achieve, but this little one...she makes it look so easy.

There are still a few things in my overextended life that I have yet to grow and heal from, and at this point in time, the only person I want to do it for is Ivory. Watching Ivory learn and grow, while learning more about the world around her is something so personal to me.

She came to me as this tiny, fragile baby that could barely open her eyes or lift her head up...now she's climbing furniture, and giving me mild heart attacks every time she falls over or injures herself.
