Emmett! Do Not Harass the Girl!

--------------------------------------------------------

I woke up in my bed, who knows how much later.

"Well, good morning sleeping beauty." Emmett chuckled from the corner of my room. He was sat in my fuzzy chair, making it look comically small.

"Good morning, Em." I smiled, turning over to properly look at him, reaching up to rub the sleep from my eyes. "How long has it been?" It wasn't uncommon for me to fall asleep and loose large chunks of time, especially after not sleeping for a few days and then traveling and being around a crazy amount of people.

"That good, huh?" He joked, standing up to move towards my bed and sit beside me.

"I guess you could say that. I feel rejuvenated." I joked, stretching my arms, purposefully whacking him in the stomach as I did.

"Rude. I brought you back to your bed after the party ended." He quipped, grabbing me around the waist so that he could haul me into his lap. I fit there perfectly, still wrapped in my duvet. Now, instead of his skin making me feel like he could give me frost bite, it was a refreshing cool, like when you turn the thermostat down to go to bed. "It's been about eighteen hours though. It's about 1pm tomorrow, I guess."

"Thank you for bringing me back up to bed." I smiled, reaching up to pull his face down into a quick kiss. I could feel him smiling against my lips.

"Of course Luce. I couldn't just leave you out there when my family was around. They could get the wrong idea." Emmett chuckled, resting his head on the wall as he let out an unnecessary sigh.

"Oh yeah." I agreed. "We can't have Esme thinking you lost your southern hospitality and manners. She would be crushed if her sweet little southern boy rebelled."

"Shut up you idiot." He laughed, placing a kiss on my forehead before tossing me off the side of the bed, causing me to land with a loud thud.

"You suck!" I yelled at him, tangled beyond saving on the floor in my duvet.

"And you swallow."

"Like you would know!" I yelled right back at him, accepting my fate and laying down on my carpeted floor.

"There are children here you two!" Beth yelled at us through my door.

"Love you Beth!" I sing sang, sending Emmett a wink. He beamed right back at me.

"Do you need some help there?"

"Yes, please." I smiled, making a grabby motion with my hand.

"You do know I'm not trying to pressure you into anything when I make jokes like that, right Lucy?" Emmett murmured as he untangled me from my blanket and helped me stand up.

"I know Em. I don't think that at all." I stated, smiling up at him. "I am sorry our lives have been so chaotic and busy since literally forever."

"Hey! No. Do not apologize." He declared, reaching to grab my face with both his hands. "I am not here to have sex with you. I am here because I love you. I understand that your life is busy and you have a job to do and your family comes first. Now don't get me wrong, I would love to have sex, but that's not why I'm here."

"I know..... I just feel like when you find your mate you're supposed to enjoy all of the mate tasks or whatever and I'm just out here running from task to task parenting wolves and hybrids and children." I sighed, resting my head on his shoulder.

"Well, now that we had that definitely not awkward conversation. Beth and Aki agreed to let the kids go help her bake cookies and a cake for the graduation party Alice is throwing tomorrow. Do you want to go with them? Or would you prefer a nice day in?" Emmett smiled down at me.
