Why Are You Launching Yourself at Me?

----------------------------------------------------------------

"Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in." Iñaki laughed, waltzing towards Emmett and I as we walked into the pick up area of the airport.

"Says you." I quipped, stepping forward to wrap him in a tight hug. "How are you? It's been a while since we talked."

"I'm good! Glad you're back here. It's a little bit chaotic so we definitely need your guys' help." My brother smiled, pushing me away from him slightly. He was never one for physical touch unless he was trying to annoy someone. "I have a surprise for you in the car."

"Ooo, what could that be?" I laughed, reaching for my suitcase in one hand and Emmett's hand in the other. He grinned down at me as I linked our hands together. Ireland and the baby hybrids really brought us closer. It felt like we had our own lives for once. I think it was refreshing and gave me good insight on what my life with Emmett could look like.

"It's great. Also Emmett, I'm apologizing in advance, right now." Iñaki awkwardly chuckled, sharing a look with my mate.

The three of us made our way out of the airport and too the parking garage. Iñaki had tucked our car away on the very top level of the Seattle Airport parking garage in a corner. It was raining, so luckily no one wanted to park there today. Before we could get within twenty feet of the car, a bronzed body was flying towards me.

"Knight!!!!! You're home." Embry screamed, launching himself into my arms, causing me to drop both my bag and Emmett's hand in order to catch him properly.

"Kid, you are not a small being. Why are you launching yourself at me?" I laughed, a smile taking over my face.

"Because you can do this." He laughed, gesturing to my holding him like a toddler on one hip. "Looks like you've had lots of practice mothering."

"Oh shut up, you're the one who hasn't tried to get down. If I am going to hold someone larger than me, I will do so in whatever way is easiest for me." I sassed, moving to pick up my suitcase again after getting Embry properly settled on my hip.

"Babe, I can take that. Especially, if you are going to carry your baby to the car." Emmett chuckled, grabbing my bag from my hand as he gave me a small smile. I appreciate his understanding of my friendship with the wolves.

"Thank you!" I smiled, stepping up on my tippy toes to give him a kiss on the cheek.

"Ewwww! Cooties!" Embry screamed directly in my ear as he jostled himself around in my hold.

"For the last time, shut up. If you really care that much you can walk. You have two perfectly functioning legs of your own." I quipped, opening the back door of the car to drop him in. "Do you want me to sit in the back with him, Em? Or would you prefer to bond with my child?"

"Have at it." He laughed, kissing my forehead as he reached for the passenger seat door. "Anything to distance me from him stench."

"Says you." Embry whined from his place inside the car.

"Okay, okay, children. Get in the car." My brother groaned, banging his head on the horn unnecessarily, making it blare out.

"I get it, I get it. Now stoooop." I whined, speeding to open the door, close it, buckle my seatbelt as well as Embry's. "Okay hot stuff, let's get going."

"Finally." Iñaki gasped dramatically, stepping on the gas, making the car lurch forward quickly.

Iñaki drove the hour long drive back to our house in forks way faster than he should have, but none the less it took us about forty minutes to get home. Embry filled most of the talking space, filling me in on everything that had happened in his life over the three-ish months I had been gone. Iñaki and Emmett made small talk in the front seats. You could tell Embry's smell got under Emmett's skin because normally he and Nacho would be talking away about random topics.
