Welcome to the Family

--------------------------------------------

"She imprinted?! On Noah?!" I gasped, looking from where Leah went off to, to Noah to the other observers.

"I guess so...." Sam trailed off, following my actions, looking at everyone around us slowly.

"Hey kid, why don't you go back and play soccer with the rest of the pack." I suggested, moving over to the table, placing my hand on Embry's shoulder.

"But this is so much more interesting..." He whined, making me want to whack him on the back of the head, but I restrained myself.

"Go." Paul growled, gesturing with his head back towards the beach. Embry seemed to listen to his pack mate much more than me.

With Embry gone, Paul and I turned back to the scene in front of us. I decided to take the extra seat at the table and focus on Noah. He was looking nervous and confused. I guess everyone was just greatly confused today, myself included. Knowing our luck, this would obviously happen at a community dinner.

"Noah?"

"Yes, Luce..."

"How ya feeling?" I murmured, leaning back in my chair. Noah looked pensive, staring off into the general area Leah walked off to.

"I'm okay. A little surprised, but I guess that's what normally happens when you find your mate or whatever." He sighed, turning his attention to me.

"Do you need anything?" I offered, placing a hand on his shoulder before giving it a quick squeeze.

"I think I'm gonna go try and talk this out...." He mumbled, pushing his chair out and standing up. "I'll be back in a second." Noah walked off, nodding to Seth as they passed.

"My sister imprinted on him?!" Seth whisper yelled at us. I nodded, confirming his question.

"Sam, what's going on in your head right now?" I tried to urge him to speak. I know he was married, but it was probably a little strange for him to see his ex girlfriend —almost fiancé— imprint right in front of him.

"Yeah, just fine. I think we should let Leah figure this out on her own." Sam murmured, turning on his heel to go back to the group of adults helping the kids eat.

"This is weird." Seth mumbled, sitting beside me at the table.

"You could say that." I chuckled, nodding at Paul as he stood up, heading back to the beach.

"My sister imprinted...."

--------------------

We all tried to act normal even though both Noah and Leah had been gone for almost an hour and a half since the whole debacle. The boys decided they were done playing and came to join the rest of us and eat absolutely all of the food.

"Do you think Leah tried to break him in half yet?" Embry laughed, plopping himself down beside me, Quil not far behind him.

"Nah man, she probably threw him off the cliff and then ran away." Quil laughed along, sitting on the other side of Embry.

"Guys! Stop it. Neither of you have imprinted so shut up, you don't know how disorienting it is." I scolded, getting annoyed with all of the boys making fun of Leah. Sure she was cranky sometimes, but honestly I couldn't blame her. If I had to share all of my thoughts with a pack of teenage boys and my ex boyfriend, I would be just as cranky.
