At Hogwarts, all the teachers and students are decorating the castle. The Great Hall already had a few decorations, but today they will put the Christmas tree up.
"Who would like to decorate the Christmas tree with Professor Flitwick and I, eh? How about yer three, Harry, Ron and Neville?" Hagrid asks the three Gryffindor boys.
The boys smile at the half-giant. "Sure, we would love to!" Harry says in a happy tone. Ron and Neville both nod in agreement.
The five of them then start decorating the big tree, making sure it looks nice and neat.
Once they are done, Flitwick levitates the star on top of the tree.
"All set" the small man states happily.
Meanwhile, Hermione helps McGonagall keep track of who is decorating which part of the castle.
"Okay, Ginny and Luna are helping Professor Sprout with decorating the halls, Headmaster Dumbledore asked the house elves to decorate the common rooms, Madam Pompfrey insisted on decorating the Hospital Wing by herself... The only room left is the Potions classroom" the girl states as she looks at the list.
Snape immediately appears in front of them.
"You will do NO SUCH THING to my classroom!" he warns, giving a dangerous look.
McGonagall chuckles. "Come on, Severus. It's only Christmas once a year" the woman says, pleading with him.
It doesn't work, though.
"Correction - once a year for almost a whole month..." he reminds her.
The Head of Gryffindor shakes her head in disapproval. "I cannot believe you, Severus. Fine, how about one decoration at least? This one can stay at your desk" she tries, showing him a teeny tiny angel figure.
He huffs at that. "Absolutely not" he says, not giving in.
McGonagall sighs. "Your classroom will be the only room in the entire castle that isn't decorated" she says, looking disappointed in her colleague.
Snape raises an eyebrow. "You forgot one more - my private chambers" he says.
He then walks away, wishing for someone to save him from the Christmas joy.
As he does so, an owl suddenly flies over his head as it brings him a letter. He raises an eyebrow at that - who would send him a letter?
He immediately opens it and starts reading it. It's from Lucius who's inviting the Potions Master to Malfoy Manor. Y/N is invited, too.
Snape doesn't think twice before leaving to apparate, so happy to be able to escape.
Meanwhile in the three girls' dimension, they are decorating the house. There are a bit of everything - stars, hearts, Santa Claus figures and angels as well.
Laura is putting three Christmas stockings over the fireplace while Vera is putting ornaments on the Christmas tree. Y/N is putting the Christmas tablecloth on the dinner table.
"I think that was the last thing" Y/N says once the dinner table looks neat.
"Maybe just a few more ornaments-" Vera says just as somebody appears inside the house. It's Lucius Malfoy.
"Ah, hello, girls. I see you are decorating" the man says as he greets the girls.
Y/N smiles. "Hi, Lucius. It's good to see you. And yeah, we just finished decorating the whole house" she says.
He nods at that. "I can see that. You three sure like Christmas decorations" he says as he chuckles.
He then clears his throat. "Anyway, I actually came here to invite you over to the Manor, Y/N. We have invited Severus as well" he says.
Y/N looks quite happy to hear that. "Really? I would love to!" she exclaims as she hugs Lucius tightly. He chuckles at her as he hugs her back.
Vera then gets an idea. "Hey, is the Manor decorated? If not, then Laura and I can help" she offers.
Laura is about to decline as an idea pops into her head. She then smirks.
"Sure, why not?" she says, giving an innocent look.
Lucius sighs. They were supposed to lighten Snape's mood, and he's sure that Y/N's friends won't be much help.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
When he sees Y/N's puppy eyes, he can't help but give in. "... Fine. But do NOT ruin my Manor" he says in a warning tone.
Both girls nod at that, looking quite innocent.
Sighing, Lucius apparates with the three girls to Malfoy Manor. When they enter the building and walk into the living room, they are met by Narcissa and Snape.
The Potions Master frowns when he sees Y/N's friends. What in Merlin's name are they doing here?
"Y/N's friends were so kind to offer to help with decorating the Manor" Lucius says, looking between his wife and his friend.
Narcissa smiles. "That is indeed kind of you, girls. Why don't I join you two?" she suggests.
"Sure, we can start in here" Laura says, gesturing to the room.
Snape glares at her. He has a feeling she chose this room on purpose.
Narcissa looks a bit hesitant before nodding. "Well, if you are sure about that" she says, hoping the girls won't bother Snape.
Narcissa, Laura and Vera then start decorating as Lucius and Y/N join Snape on the couch.
"Hi, Severus" Y/N says as she shyly smiles at him. She's sitting between him and Lucius.
"Hello, Y/N" he says, giving a small smile.
A smile that quickly turns into a scowl when Laura approaches to put some decorations on the table.
"Do you absolutely have to decorate here?" he questions, sounding quite irritated.
Laura gives an innocent smile. "Of course, everywhere has to be decorated" she states.
He huffs at that. He then talks with Lucius and Y/N while trying to ignore Laura.
That however proves difficult as the girl decides to put a Christmas heart ornament over his head.
He glares at her which she merely returns with an innocent look that proves she is anything but that.
Both Y/N and Lucius sigh. They hope Laura won't bother Snape the whole evening...
