Chapter 29

It's Coming Back, Slowly

Baekhyun is now with the emperor at the construction site. He was indeed allowed to go out, but with the emperor in his side. It's like he was babysit by the emperor.

They were walking in a huge stone road, in the construction site. Baekhyun is holding a huge parasol, to shade the emperor from the burning sunlight. The parasol is too heavy, making it difficult for Baekhyun to hold.

"Baekhyun, give it to him" Chanyeol said, indicating about the parasol to give it to the other servant. He noticed Baekhyun was having difficulties in lifting the parasol properly.

"Pardon, Imperial Majesty?" Baekhyun did not catch up what the emperor meant.

"The parasol, give it to him" he repeated. And Baekhyun gave the parasol to the other male servant who can lift it properly.

He immediately went to the side as he let the male servant who's holding the sunshade, close to the emperor. So he can shade the emperor properly.

"Where are you going? Stay here". Baekhyun went back to his spot.

Baekhyun looked around, and saw a lot of chained people doing labor. They gathered huge limestone bricks, and piled it up together. He's wondering if these are the people from yesterday whom he saw.

He can't really tell if what they're building, because it's still not finish yet.

"Your Imperial Majesty" General Geogory was also present there, with Luhan in his side. Baekhyun and Luhan wanted to hug each other, but can't. They're on their duty now. Unless if they want to get punish severely.

"Sir Geogory, how's the granary?" Chanyeol asked straightforwardly.

"As you can see, Imperial Majesty. The slaves are doing great in doing the labor. The architect told me that this will take one year and a half to finish".

"Why is that so, are these numbers of slaves not enough" the emperor asked, while knitting his brows together.

The general was about to speak when a man who's dressed in a golden robe, walks in.

"Imperial Majesty, It's my greatest honor to finally meet you and work with you. Imperial Majesty, allow me to introduce myself. I, Zuren of House Ruoque, the architect you hired for this magnificent project." The architect introduced himself as he bowed 90 degrees.

"It's an honor to meet you to, Sir Ruoque." The Ruoque Family is a well known noble family, known for their incredible engineering skills.

"So, sir Ruoque. Please tell me about this granary".

"Oh well, this structure is design for holding hundreds or thousands of tons of grains. That is enough to sustain three large cities for a year. This structure will stand for over 50m tall, with a 90m per diameter. With this colossal size, this will approximately take a year or so to finish, depending on the laboring of the slaves" he explained.

"My sister, Selene, never told me about how magnificent her idea was. She truly is a genius" Chanyeol complimented his sister's idea. It was Selene who started this project.
