Chapter 8

The Escape

Baekhyun and Luhan were running through the woods following Baekhyun's animals behind. They need to go to the nearest city, to the Blues Sfate City to seek shelter there, and they need to run as fast as they can before they might get caught by the invaders.

The five of them arrived at the Blues Sfate, but it looks like there's no hope for them. The Blues Sfate too has fallen into the hand of the enemies, and there's nowhere for them to run.

"What... should we do now... hyung?" Baekhyun asked while panting heavily. He is dead exhausted and scared.

Luhan did not response, he just stared at the collapsed and burned city of Blues Sfate. The fire is now slowly eating the forest nearby, coming to their direction.

Luhan can't think of any place to go now, they can't go to the Lazuli City, it's too far and it's probably destroyed too by now. They can't risk going back to their path, who knows what's waiting for them in their way. This leaves Luhan no choice but to retreat back to the woods, and head north.

"We can't stay here longer, we need head north" Luhan said. Baekhyun only nodded in response.

They immediately fled the city and move forward to the northern forest to hide there.

They ran the woods for hours and hours, making all of them to be dead tired.

"Wait... I... I can't run... anymore" Baekhyun said while panting heavily, he is dead tired for running. His energy was drained from his body because of the of lack of sleep and exhaustion. The surroundings is still quite dark, and the sun has not yet born.

"We need to hurry... Your Highness" Luhan replied while panting, he too is very tired just like Baekhyun. But they need to get away from this place as soon as possible or else they will be dead meat.

"I... I can't move... my legs" Baekhyun said while collapsing to the ground.

Luhan has no other choice but to let the young prince to rest for a while. Well, it's pretty understandable for Baekhyun's situation, he is not used to this kind of situation after all. Luhan needs to regain his energy too, what if the invaders will show up without warning, who will protect Baekhyun? So he decided to sit on the big branch that collapsed on the ground.

But after a minutes of resting, they heard a loud sounds of horses coming through their direction. Luhan knew it's them, the guys who are chasing after them.

"Your Highness we need go" Luhan spoke in a hurry tone, he had regained a bit of his energy.

"But hyung, my feet are still numb, I can't move it" he said.

Luhan doesn't know what to do, he can't carry Baekhyun like other men could easily do, he is not that strong, his body is petite. He can't also leave Baekhyun in here too, he needs to think of other way.

Then an idea came out in his mind, he needs to distract them so they won't get Baekhyun, he knew who they are up to. So, it's better to let himself as a bait, it doesn't matter to him because they are not interested in him after all.

"Your Highness, do see that huge rock across river bank? You need to get there and hide in there, stay there and don't come out no matter what happens until I return. I will gonna distract them, don't worry I'll come back" he instructed him.

"B-but hyung..." Baekhyun protested.

"Please, Your Highness. Promise me, please".

"Okay I promise, but promise me too you'll come back no matter what, okay?".
