I didn't actually think this contest was ever gonna reach 1K views. Honestly, I kinda thought it never would take off at all.
I say this a lot -trust me; I know- but I mean it every time: thank you for taking the time to participate, and thank you for showing this contest so much love. You might not realise it, but I love spending some of my time on this contest, and I look forward to every entry.
When I started this, I wanted to create a place free of pressure, where everyone is welcome. Because what I've noticed about a lot of contests is that they require you to follow the author's account, or give a shoutout on your message board, or tag people, or whatever.
There's nothing wrong that, of course.
But I do feel like that can create some hesitation from people to participate. People who might be hesitant to use message boards, or feel awkward about tagging other people (I know I would be).
So I thought, Okay, but what happens to the people who feel this way?
And I decided to create this, to make sure no one ever has to feel excluded because of any social anxieties they might have.
Anyway, I've ranted enough, I think. I just wanted to give you guys some insight as to why this contest exists. But you're obviously here to read about that special event.
A little while back, I asked you guys if there was anything you'd like to see as a way of celebrating 1K reads. mminecraftbees suggested hosting awards, and I loved that idea.
So yes, guys, I'm planning on an award show (is that how it's called? I think it is). Most of it is mapped out, I just need to add some finishing touches and a cover. The awards book will go online early January, so keep an eye on either my profile, or this book (I'll add an AN when it's posted) if you'd like to join!
