Adrian's POV

So I ran. What else was I supposed to do? I'd known this girl for less than half an hour, and she already made me laugh? That was the first genuine laugh I'd had in weeks. She made me... happy? Maybe since this was a fresh start for me, I could possibly have a girlfriend... No, I'm thinking too far ahead of myself. I knew that they'd find me eventually. But for the moment, I had to lay low.

Now I had to find out where to stay the night. I could always go back to Liam's house. But what if Ali's still there? I knew it was stupid to run away. I'd have to live with no money for a few days. I would go back to Liam if I really needed to.

I scanned my surroundings, looking for a suitable place to sleep. Well, that park bench looked comfortable enough. I approached the bench and laid down. The sun was setting and I thought of what would've happened if I didn't run. She would've asked more questions. I shouldn't have got annoyed. I groaned in frustration. The first good thing that had happened to me in months, and I threw it away. She made the time to follow me and to ask questions. Did that mean she cared? Or was she just a naturally nosy person? I layed on my back, gazing at the stars. By now the sky was a mesmerising deep blue, the only light coming from the stars and street lights.

Not a person in sight. All that could be heard was the quiet chirp of the crickets. Maybe some birds. My eyes filled with tears. I could finally let out what I'd been holding in for months. I cried myself to sleep, thinking of Ali.

The sunlight woke me up. I rolled to the side, and fell.

"What a great way to start the morning." I thought sourly to myself. I looked at the time, seeing that I had 5 minutes to get to school. I grabbed my backpack with the little belongings I had and started walking.

"Alison? You look like shit!" I heard from the car a few metres away from me. Ali was getting in the car. She was wearing sweatpants and a pink sports bra. Her brown hair was in a messy bun, and even from a distance I could tell that she'd been crying.

"Shut it Maddy. Just drive." It sounded like she had a rough night. The blue mini cooper drove away until it was no longer in sight. Was she thinking of me? The whole walk to school I thought of Ali. What do I do when I see her? Avoid her? After what seemed like hours of arguing with myself, I knew what I had to do.

I saw her taking books out from her locker. Planning what I was going to say in my head, I started walking towards her when someone beat me to it.

He leant on the locker in front of Ali, with his arms crossed. He had blackish brown hair and a built body. Was this Ali's boyfriend? How stupid was I?! Of course she had a boyfriend. She was beautiful.
But judging by the wrinkles on her forehead, it didn't look like a very friendly conversation. He caressed her cheek, but Ali slapped his hand. Okay, they definitely weren't dating. I confidently walked up to them. At least I hope that's what it looked like.

"What's going on here?" I said strongly.

"I was just being friendly." The asshole smirked.

"James. Get the fuck away from me. It's bad enough that I have to live with you now. Run before my boyfriend beats you up." Ali never failed to surprise me.

They lived together? Wait. Boyfriend? She winked at me, and I got the memo to play along.

"Run while you can, James." I spat.

"Sure thing, boyfriend." He said with emphasise on boyfriend. He walked away with a defeat expression on his face.

I turned to face Ali, but she was already walking away.

"Hey, wait up!" I began.

"What do you want?" She demanded.

"I just um.. Wanted to apologise for how I acted yesterday." It sounded like a question. Dammit I memorised it and everything, and now I stuffed it up. I scratched my neck waiting for a response.

She thought about it for a moment. "You're forgiven." She sighed.

"Ali, you don't sound very happy about it." I questioned.

"It's not your fault, forget about it. I had a shit night and I just want to be alone. Talk to you later, yeah?" She confessed.

"Oh, of course. Bye." Gosh I sounded so lame.

Alison's POV

Well that was unexpected. But after yesterday's events, it seemed like nothing. I was glad Adrian apologised, but I just needed some time to figure everything out. Just two days ago, everything was normal. Why couldn't things just go back to the way it was? (note the Ariana Grande reference;))) A tear escaped from the rim of my left eye. I quickly wiped it away and plastered a fake smile on my face.

I was going to get through this.

I hope you liked Adrian's POV ;)) Sorry this was a bit short. Most of you are probably confused on what happened to Alison, but all will be revealed in the next chapter. Comment any feedback or errors.
