You opened your eyes.

A vast, clear night sky with no end was spread out before you, going from a warm pinkish-purple at the horizon to a calming deep blue. Six stars drawn in a pattern were brighter than the others, and naturally drew your vision towards them. Unable to make out what shape they formed, you embraced the cool feeling of water lapping against your body.

It felt and sounded like you were laying in a creek. Taking a deep breath, you allowed yourself to embrace the moment of peace before you inevitably needed to find out where you were. Exhaling after a few seconds, you sat up slowly and stared at the world around you. Just like the sky, it was endless and filled with soft, white lilies.

The deep blue water reflected the sky perfectly, crystal clear and completely still. Despite the fact that it was clearly nighttime, it was still light, and you could see everything in the endless sea of lilies. Or were they called cecilias here? You couldn't remember. Falling back into the water, you raised your hands to the sky and formed a picture frame with your fingers, capturing the sight of the six stars you were so drawn to, trying to study their shape.

Eventually, your arms grew tired, so you let them flop to your side and closed your eyes again, lulled asleep by the gentle water.

The next time you woke up, you were somewhere completely different. Inside of a room you'd never seen before, you stared at the wooden ceiling. From the beams of light radiating inside, you could tell that it was late in the afternoon, when everything in the world was bathed in a warm orange. Sitting up in the soft bed you were in, you stared at the soft seafoam green covers.

Yawning suddenly, you reached one of your hands up to cover your mouth. As soon as you did, you froze up and stared down at your hand. Five fingers. Did this belong to you? Tilting your head, you felt something brush against your cheek, but ignored it in favor of opening and closing what was apparently your hand.

It was strange. You had gotten surprisingly used to being an Abyss Mage, so you nearly forgot what a human hand felt like. Realizing that your arms were both human, you grabbed the covers and tossed them off of you, staring down at the rest of your body. Although you could tell this body was human, the clothes you were wearing confused you. You... don't remember ever having these.

Despite that, you recognized what these were instantly. Although you didn't have the weird hammerhead shark helmet or the cylinder head, you could distinctly tell this was the clothing that all Abyss Heralds wore, perfectly fit to your body. Brushing that aside for now, you inspected your right arm to see if you could find the straps to release the gauntlets on your arm.

Despite the fact that they were metallic, it felt incredibly lightweight and flexible. Eventually, you just pulled the gauntlet off your arm like a glove, a bit embarrassed that it was so easy. Your arm looked... normal. Your skin was the same color, but you could faintly see your veins had a dull glow to them whenever you breathed in, the glow fading when you exhaled. Whack.

You strapped the gauntlet back on and took off the other before letting it fall onto the bed in shock. Your left arm was definitely not normal. Obsidian black and covered with glowing indigo veins that glowed the same vibrancy regardless of how you breathed. Rolling your sleeve up until it struggled to roll any further, you concluded that your entire arm was just like this.

Instinctually, you felt like this arm could do more than a regular arm. Going with that gut feeling, you furrowed your eyebrows and willed something to happen. For a moment, everything was normal, and then your hand started melting into goo. Confused and a bit frightened by whatever the hell it was that you just did, you willed it to back to normal. Instead of going back to the normal hand shape, the fingers deformed into razor sharp, glowing tips.
