"Manong, bakit ang tagal mo?" He heard her say but he was too preoccupied to answer her. She keeps blabbering about something he don't understand. Then he felt her tugging his shirt, maybe losing her patience because he don't respond at all.
"Kanina pa kita hinihintay eh. Natapos na lang yung mov.....O.M.G." Dani said almost dropping her jaw. He knows why she said that all of a sudden. Siguro napansin niya rin kung saan nakatingin si kiefer.
The moment when kiefer saw mika with a man, everything flashed back. Though hindi naman sila ganoon ka-close sa isa't isa, he can't help himself to be jealous. She's back. She's finally back. But not in the way he expect it to be. He once imagined that mika will be back and continue to pursue and chase him. But it seems like his imaginations will only be imaginations. Nothing more. Nothing less.
"Ate mika!" She shrieked earning her stares from people around. But it seems like she doesn't care at all. She ran her way to where Mika is. Grabe lang ang excitement ni dani that she even forgot about manong and mika's companion.
"Ate I miss you." She said almost crying. She then hugged her ate tight. Afraid of losing her again.
Kiefer wants to embrace her too. He missed her too much. But he opted not and just stay behind dani. Letting his sister do the deed.
"Ah eh miss, okay ka lang?" Mika asked. Puzzled why suddenly, a young girl ran towards her then hugged her telling her she missed her. Naguguluhan siya.
"Miss? Ang formal mo naman ate eh." She said back.
"Sorry miss. Di kasi kita maalala."
Dani froze. Kiefer too. He was meter away kaya rinig niya ang mga ito. Tama ba yung rinig nila?
"Ate mika? You're joking right?" Dani asked once again. She's in the edge of breaking down. She can't believe it. For her, mika is just giving her another silly antics. Umaasa siya na nagjojoke lang ito.
"Ah miss, pasensya na ah. Pero kailangan na naming umalis." The guy said.
"Wait. Tissue oh. Sorry ah." Mika said then give her some tissue for her to wipe her tears. Umalis naman sila kaagad.
Kiefer was left there hanging. Dani approached him. She hugged her manong then sob like a little girl. Like his sister, he can't believe what he just witnessed a moment ago. One year. One year lang nawala si mika pero bakit parang hindi na sila nito kilala. Kung umalis siya para lumimot, napasobra naman ata.
They decided to just go home and cancel their date. Sa sitwasyon nila, hindi rin sila makakapag-enjoy.
Once they're home, dani immediately locked herself in her room. Mika's effect on her was too much. She treated her like her own sister thats why its too much for her to handle what happened in the mall.
As for kiefer, he was bombarded with questions by his mom and thirdy. The three of them is in the living room. They asked him why they went home all of a sudden thinking about his date with dani is scheduled tonight. So given with no choice, he told them the whole story. As expected, nagulat rin sila. They didn't expect that thing to happen.
"Maybe she involved in an accident." Thirdy said breaking the silence.
"No one knows except her. One year is a long time." Mozzy replied.
"Maraming pwedeng mangyari sa isang taon, and maybe she loss her memory nung nawala siya." She added.
"Alam ko na. Kaya hindi siya nagpaparamdam kasi nakalimutan niya." Thirdy said in delight as if he solved a puzzle.
"I wonder if im the reason why she loss her memory." Kiefer butted in. Somehow, he feel its his fault why something unbelievable happen to her. Guilt is devouring his whole being.
The news about mika spread faster than he thought. Si thirdy talaga, hindi mapigilan ang bibig. Daig pa babae sa kadaldalan.
His family, teammates and mutual friends were already aware of it. Lahat sila nagulat as expected. They don't know what to do. Wala pang nakakakita kay mika since that incident that's why they don't know what to believe. But one thing's for sure, she's back.
Their training just ended and he's too exhausted to drive all the way to cainta. So he decided to stay in his condo for the night para makapagpahinga siya kaagad. And besides, he has early practice tomorrow too.
The moment he set foot in his condo, pumunta siya agad sa kitchen to find something edible. He's hungry already but he found nothing there. He thought that it will be better if he ran to the supermarket first to buy supplies.
Kiefer is in the middle of checking a particular brand of bandage when someone bumped into him. He dropped what he's holding.
"Sorry."
"Im sorry."
They said in unison. Pinulot niya ang bandage and looked up. It was billie.
"Billie?"
"Kiefer?"
They said in unison once again. They chuckled after hearing themselves.
"Kamusta? Kelan ka umuwi? Are you here for good?" Kiefer asked.
"Kanina lang. Maybe, yes. Maybe, no. Things are still uncertain. It depends pa. Ikaw kamusta na? Sino kasama mo?"
"Ako lang. Okay lang naman. Im good." He utter then sighed. He's good? Sinong niloloko mo kiefer? He said to himself.
"Ay lalim nyan ah. Care to share?" She replied. Napansin niya ang pagkabalisa ng kaibigan.
"Maybe next time. Im in hurry eh. Yun pa rin ba number mo?"
"Yes. Remember that im one text away." She smiled at him.
"Okay. I will. Nice bumping at you bils." He said then turned his back. He made his way to the counter and pay what he got. Its been a long time since he last saw billie. All he knows that she stayed in california for many years already after she graduated.
"See you when i see you." He heard her say in the background. He just smile.
Moments later someone tapped billie from the back so she turned her back and face who it was.
"Sino yun?" Mika asked.
"Its kiefer." She said casually.
