"... Maybe one day we'll meet again, when we're different people. Maybe then well be better for each other." He heard the woman says talking to the man next to her.

The guy just sat there, unable to move, cold embracing his broad frame, pain rushing through his veins. He can hear his heart breaking into pieces. The deafening silence, the shivering coldness, and the pain his feeling right at that moment, all is sending him to another dimension. He can't think straight anymore. He don't know what to say. He don't know what to do. He felt a single tear rushing in his cheeks.

Then it started raining. Slowly at start then it pouring hard. The man turned his gaze to the woman beside him, she keep herself mum, but you can see peace and serenity evident to her face. Both welcomed the rain to soak them. She raised her hands up to her shoulder, palms wide open as if collecting raindrops. She's enjoying the rain, cause it hides her tears from him. They stayed quiet for a moment, letting rain and thunder do the music. A smile curved in her lips as she stood up, leaving him on the edge of the cliff. Acquainted with the thought that once she leaves him, she knows that it will change her life for the rest of her existence, for better or for worse, no one knows. She once loved him, she still loves him, and she knows that she will love him eternally.

After a while, as his body soaked in the rain, he stood up, pacing his way to his car. Its still raining hard, the wind rushing over him causing him to shiver down to his spine. With blurry vision because of the rain, he struggles to walk straight. He took one step, then another, seeking support to a nearby tree. He can hear the thunder roaring in the background. Slowly but surely, he took one step at a time. He is making sure that he will get out of the place safely but the mud underneath him restricting him to do so. Another roll of thunder with a wave of cold wind, then everything went pitch black.

Saturday morning dawned with blue skies, but soon clouds began rolling in. Gray and thick, they swirled and twisted in the ever-rising wind. The temperature began to plummet.

It's been one month. One month of being horrible. One month of having taste of hell. One month of surviving and merely living. One month of existing but barely breathing. But she don't care coz she don't want to overcome the feeling of being pained.

She has full knowledge that for a month she's alone. No one cares. No one needs her. No one loves her anymore. Not like before. She's being cared, needed and loved.

But in the process of surviving her life, she became friends with two. They never leave her side. They became her best friend. Pain and sadness.

Somehow, for a month, she enjoyed the pang in her chest. She embraced the choking sensation whenever she felt the lump on her throat when she cries. She loved the instances when her own sobs served as lullaby at night. She somehow learned the art of pain. She somewhat acknowledged that she's fortunate enough to experience being half-dead.

They say that everything you love will for sure leave you. As cliche as the saying is, she thought that if she love the pain, it will eventually fade away. But it seems like years yet the pain is still fresh. It is still raw like the first time she had tasted it. She wants the pain to fade away and leave her but it seems enjoying her company and ruined her life. The pain wants her so bad like she wants it to fade away and evaporate in thin air.

Mika then thought that maybe, her love of pain isn't enough. Maybe she should cover herself from blanket of torment and bury her body in full agony.

"Sadness keeps visiting me in my sleep, and I keep telling him to go away. But baby, he has your face."

She feels like she's a restaurant table for one. An amusement park for the broken. Paris for loverless. And it hit her like a black hole.

She spent her days thinking of her befriending and loving her best friends even more. They never left her side. Their overwhelming presence makes her shiver and cry. Sometimes, her tears are enough to water her coffee. The flavor depends on her bitterness.

Mika stood there, watching the hours tick by. Then came the early evening sky with a prism of colors. Though the sun had finally moved toward the western sky, the porch was still cold like her heart. The breeze was enough to keep her cool.

She heard the sounds of an engine approaching. Moments after, behind her she heard the door squeak open. He stepped onto the porch, joining her at the railing. By then she knew who it was. She drew a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves and turned to meet her visitor.

Seeing him, she seemed to freeze, her expression one of disbelief. She stood surrounded by the last rays of the setting sun, agony evident to her face. Sadness etched to her eyes and for a moment all she could do was stare.

And it was then she realized that she still loves him no matter what.

"Can we talk?" He asked her. Mika said nothing to that. He watched as she lowered her gaze. He began pacing towards her.

"I know you pushed me away. I'm a jerk, bastard. Call me names, I deserved it anyway. But Mika let me tell you this, I..."

Mika cut him.

"How can you belittle yourself? Its my fault not yours."

"Because I know myself Miks." He said, realizing that he's still deeply in love with her.

"Kiefer, I know my limits and I have the full knowledge that I already pushed you to the edge."

"Mika." He whispered, and for a moment, neither of them moved. Through the sky, the moon had risen and hung suspended over the treetops. Kiefer finally put a hand on her hip and pulled her closer. Mika exhaled, as if setting down an age-old burden, and when she looked up at him, it was suddenly easy for her to imagine that her being friends with pain and sadness were somehow pointless.

With that, she let herself lean into him. She felt their bodies come together as he raised a hand to her hair. His touch was gentle and soft, unlike anything she'd experienced before, and she watched in wonder as he closed his eyes. He tilted his head, their faces drawing close.

When their lips finally came together, she could taste the sweet flavor on his tongue. She gave herself over to him then, allowing him to kiss her cheek, and she leaned back, revealing in the sensation. She could feel the moisture of his lips as they brushed against her skin, and she slip her arms around his neck.

This is what it feels like to really love someone, she thought, and to be loved in return, and she could feel the tears beginning to form. She blinked, trying to will them back, but all at once, they were impossible to stop. She loves him with all of her that's why she's hurting with what had happened to them few weeks back.

They kissed for a long time in the balcony, their bodies pressed together, his hand moving over her back and in her hair. She shivered at the feel of the slight stubble on his cheeks. When he ran a finger over the skin of her arm, she felt a flood of liquid heat course through her body.

"I'm sorry." She finally whispered, hoping that he would forgive her.

"I love you Mika that's why I keep coming back to you kahit na ipagtabuyan mo pa ako." He brushed a strand of hair from her face.

She swallowed hard, trying to rid herself of her tears.

"Sshhh. Don't cry baby. There's no way I will let you go. You're mine. Only mine." He used his thumb to wipe her tears.

She leaned into him again.

"Yeah. I'm yours. You're mine." She mumbled. He hugged his life tightly in his arms. Right then, she kissed her pain goodbye.
