"Miks!"
Billie ran towards mika and hugged the life out of her. They were in airport. Kakarating lang ni billie galing california.
"I super miss you ye." Billie said teary-eyed, breaking the embrace.
"Miss you too bils. How's your trip? Hotel na tayo, baka matraffic pa tayo, dyahe." Mika replied.
Billie and mika stayed in a hotel. 3 days lang sila dun then they will leave for balesin getaway. Its mika's treat for her.
As soon as they set foot in their room, billie jumped on the bed and lay flat with her back. While mika sat on the edge of her bed facing billie.She's just watching her as she closed her eyes, maybe trying to relax a bit from her trip's exhaustion.
"Oh how i miss home." Billie said, eyes closed.
Mika knew what billie meant. She's been away after her graduation and for sure, she really miss manila.
"Ikaw eh. Layo layo ka pa. Haha." Mika said.
"Che. Wait, anong oras na ba? I want to take a nap first." Billie asked her with exhaustion in her eyes. She's like a little girl asking her mother for another set of sleep. Mika just chuckled knowing bille, makulit talaga ang isang to.
"Pagod ka sa byahe?"
"Napagod super to the highest level. Kaya nga matutulog eh. Kaloka." Billie said laughing.
"Eh hindi pa tayo kumakain eh." Mika said pouting.
"Ye, just this one please." Billie replied.
"Okay." Mika knows that billie is half-sleep already so she didn't nudge to protest anymore. She decided to take a nap as well.
They woke up late already and mika's tummy is now growling angrily. They ate in a japanese restaurant around their hotel's area. Ayaw na nilang lumayo, baka abutan pa sila ng traffic. They were happily ate their dinner since they both craved for it. After that, they just went to a nearby supermarket to buy what they need for their balesin's trip.
"Bils, dun lang ako ah." Mika said. Billie nod in response.
She's in the middle of checking a particular brand of bandage when someone bumped into her. She dropped what she's holding.
"Sorry."
"Im sorry."
They said in unison. Pinulot niya ang bandage and looked up. It was kiefer.
"Kiefer?"
"Billie?"
They said in unison once again. They chuckled after hearing themselves.
"Kamusta? Kelan ka umuwi? Are you here for good?" Kiefer asked her.
"Kanina lang. Maybe, yes. Maybe, no. Things are still uncertain eh. It depends pa. Ikaw kamusta na? Sino kasama mo?" She replied.
"Ako lang. Okay lang naman. Im good." He utter then sighed. Kiefer seems troubled. The way he speaks opposes his body language.
"Ay lalim nyan ah. Care to share?" Billie replied.
"Maybe next time. Im in hurry eh. Yun pa rin ba number mo?" Kiefer asked her.
"Yes. Remember that im one text away." She smiled at him.
"Okay. I will. Nice bumping at you bils." He said then turned his back. He made his way to the counter and pay what he got. Its been a long time since she last saw kiefer.
"See you when i see you." She shouted back.
Moments later someone tapped billie from the back so she turned her back and face who it was.
"Sino yun?" Mika asked.
"Its kiefer." She said casually.
Upon hearing her, mika's eyes widened. Para siyang nakakita ng multo.
"Where is he? Did he asked about me? Ano sinabi mo?" Mika bombarded billie with her questions. She felt nervous and at the same time, excited. Why? She's nervous because she didn't expect kiefer right at this moment. She's not ready. But excited because she can't wait to give kiefer a show.
"Teka teka. Miks, relax muna tayo. Kalma lang." Billie replied to her calming her down.
"Nagkamustahan lang kami. That's it. Di ka naman niya tinanong sakin. Why he would ask me about you?" Billie added arching her brows to mika. Giving her you-owe-me-an-explanation look.
Mika sighed in defeat. Her friend needs to learn what happened days back. They ordered drinks and once they settled in their hotel room, kiwento niya lahat ng nangyari sa kanya, sa kanila.
"Miks, its not a joke you know." Billie said to her shaking her head side ways and taking a drink on her glass of tequila.
"I know but what can i do? Im hurt bils. Its unbearable."
"Yes miks. You're hurt but that doesn't mean that you will hurt people around you as well, for pete's sake."
"I don't mean to hurt dani, i swear. Pero nung nakita ko si kiefer, lahat ng sakit bumalik sakin." Mika said with voice-cracking. She's now crying really hard. Billie just nodded at her. She knows that her friend really suffer in a hard way. And she is matured enough to handle a bitch-mika.
"Tangina niya kasi. Gago siya." Mika continued before taking a gulp on her drink.
"Wala akong ginawa kundi mahalin siya. Punyeta siya. Kahit nagmumukha na akong tanga, carry lang. Kahit para na kong aso kakabuntot sa kanya, okay lang. Lahat yun kinaya ko."
"Billie, alam kong hindi naging kami. Nakakagago lang kasi." Mika is now tipsy. Billie can see her it in her face. Naawa siya sa kaibigan pero wala siyang magagawa kundi ang makinig dito. She knows that mika needed a friend that will listen to all her sentiments, and this time, its billie's turn.
"So anong plano mo?" Billie asked mika.
"I will play this game. Gaganti ako."
"Are you sure about this miks?" She asked once again.
"Yes. Just give me one week and after that, lipad na tayong balesin."
Mika let her heart speaks for her. It was indeed full of hatred and abhorrence. Billie knows that her anger will lead her to unhappiness and resentment.
"Fuck him. Fuck kiefer. Fuck you siya with feelings." Mika's last words before dozing to sleep.
Billie pity her friend. Matagal siyang hindi nagkabalita rito and its surprised her that this happened to her. Mika is her friend, and so kiefer too. And in this situation, she stands in between. She will not meddle in their business, let alone the two fixed their own crease. She knew that both parties commit their own mistakes. They will surely find their way to rectify their relationship without her help even if not as lovers, at least as friends. Time will come. Not now. But soon.
"Good night miks." Billie tucked mika on her bed.
