“Mika! Mika!” Kiefer shouted her name.

Its already 4 in the morning, but there they are, Billie and Kiefer, looking for Mika. They decided to part ways for a greater chance to find her in that unfamiliar place.

“Mika!” Kiefer shouted once again but since they started looking for her and shouted her name, he got no response but only a cold wind that hit his face. The wind is sending him enough coldness that makes him shiver down to his spine. He run, afraid of losing her, afraid that he might never see her again. Overwhelming thoughts came flooding his mind.

He’s busy looking for her, and then in his peripheral vision, a familiar figure caught his attention. It was Mika, sitting near the edge of the cliff, hugging her knees, shivering. Kiefer felt a pang in his chest upon seeing Mika in that state. He knows that she’s in pain right now and he can’t do anything about it. He silently approached her.

“Why you runaway miks?” He asked calmly when he reached Mika’s side.

She’s in shocked because she didn’t even noticed that he already found her and that he’s beside her that quick. Mika lifted her head to see Kiefer, meeting his gaze. The way they look to each other, you can see the pain, the longingness, the sadness.

“Why mika?” Kiefer asked again. Mika turned her gaze to the beautiful view. It is still dawn, and the darkness brings her peace and serenity, like what she’s looking for. It is what she wants, but definitely what she needed the most right at that moment.

“Because the pain is just unbearable. I can’t take it anymore that’s why I left.” She said, oblivious that she was not talking about what happened earlier rather, the thing in the past that’s left unsolved. The thing that makes her heart slowly breaks into pieces.

“If you leave someone at least tell them why, because what’s more painful than being abandoned is knowing you’re not worth an explanation.” He said. He can’t help it but to voice out what he truly feels. Mika faked a laugh and said.

"He doesn't deserved an explanation Kief, after all, he didn't even know that I'm exists."

Kiefer sat beside Mika, leaving some inches away from her. He took off his jacket then gave it to her. She took it instantly, aware that it will somehow give her warm, as well as security.

They remained silent for a while. No one wants to break the calming silence between them two. Silence is what they need to cleanse their mind.

“Billie once told me that I fell in love back then.” Mika said turning her head to Kiefer’s side to see his reaction but when she saw him looking at the mountains, she continues.

“It is a frightening thought, that in one fraction of a moment you can fall in the kind of love that takes a lifetime to get over. Its crazy how someone can torture your mind without even doing anything. But it did feel great Kiefer. I really love the feeling of being in love with someone. But shit happened. He called me names, that I don’t have any idea where the hell he got that. Plus I saw him kissing other girl. I know there’s never an “us” but I gave him my all, everything but he just threw it away and it hurts. It aches with every beat of my heart. Sometimes its hurts too much that I just want to stop breathing, so that my heart stop beating and I won’t have to feel anything anymore. It hurts enough to keep me awake at night. I can’t breathe because each breath reminds me that it is real- that I will wake up, even when I’m so desperately wishing I won't.” Mika said sobbing, letting him hear what she really feels deep down. She knew that if she let all the pains out, she will feel better. She needs to feel better. Kiefer just silently listening to her, it’s the least he can do. Though it rips his heart in every word she spit, he willing accepts the pain. It’s his fault after all.
