“I prefer Baguio.”
“No more Balesin?” Mika asked Billie.
“Oh you know how much I love Balesin pero may bagyo.”
Mika just nodded in response, Billie has a point after all. Even though she’s excited also about their Balesin trip, their safety is always on top of the line. They’re now packing their things, preparing for their Baguio expedition.
Baguio is not a bad choice actually.
Mika and Billie arrived there before the break of the dawn. They agreed that it is better if they’ll leave as early as they can so that they can enjoy the ambiance of the so called “summer capital of the Philippines”.
They just savor the environment, trying to calm everything inside them. They’re in the middle of their breakfast when Mika’s phone lit.

Good morning miks. Any plans for today?
A naughty plan creeps into her mind.
To: Kiefer
Hmmm, Im planning to surprise billie. She got promoted.
From: Kiefer
I see. May maitutulong ba ko?
To: Kiefer
Hmmm, actually i really need help. Okay lang ba sayo?
From: Kiefer
I have practice lang this morning but afterwards, im free.
And so she decided to call kiefer.
"Miss mo na ko agad? Di ka satisfied sa text? Haha” He said as soon as he picked his phone up.
"What time tapos ng practice mo?" She said not minding the joke he dropped a while ago.
"Before lunch tapos na yun. Why?"
"Perfect. I need you to be there around lunch para mahaba haba preparations natin for the surprise."
"Okay. Asahan mo ko."
"Good." She said then hang-up. Billie then gave her an arched brow, throwing Mika her you-owe-me-an-explanation look. Mika just smirked then laughed in fiendish way.
She explained everything to Billie and as expected, Billie just nodded in response not wanting to meddle on her friend’s plan. Mika immediately made a reservation on one of the hotel in Batangas, preparing everything for her plan. She then texted Kiefer the venue.
After having their breakfast, Mika and Billie explore Baguio. They enjoy every bit of the place. They stroll around, leisurely keening on the cold surroundings.
It was after lunch when Mika remembered Kiefer and her plan so she promptly called him.
"Kiefer, andyan ka na ba?"
"Yes miks. Kakarating ko lang."
"Ah. Hmm, baka ma-late ako. May emergency kasing nangyari pero inaayos ko naman na."
"Okay lang. Ako na lang muna magsusupervise ng event. Kaya ko na yun. Ayusin mo muna yan."
"Yun na nga kiefer. Another problem. Kakatawag lang ng event planner sakin. Sabi niya hindi daw naconfirm yung surprise for billie kaya they removed it from their list."
"Ganun ba? Hmm, gusto mo ako na lang gumawa lahat?"
"Sure ka? Naku manong, wag na. Nakakahiya naman. Treat ko na lang si billie."
"No. Its fine. Kayang kaya ko yun. Sows, maliit na bagay."
"Sure ka manong?"
"Yes. Just tell me what you want me to do. And ill take photos of it na lang for you to see it."
"Thats sounds good."
"Ill send you pics kung anong gusto ko para magaya mo. Okay ba yun?"
"Thats better."
She still checks on him all through out the day. Hearing him troubled sends joy and pride to her whole being. She really enjoyed the show. Of course, all of those were just a part of her revenge. She has no plan of showing on that “surprise party” and be with Kiefer. She hates every bit of his whole being.
Mika can’t sleep that night. Its already past midnight and she keep on rolling in her bed.
“Miks, can’t sleep?” Billie asked her. She turned her gaze to Billie then nodded.
“Bils, Sagada tayo?” She asked Billie out of nowhere. She just felt like going to Sagada, since she received great feedback from that place. She wants serenity, and maybe, just maybe, Sagada is the place where she will find what’s she’s looking for.
Billie agreed to Mika with no second thoughts. She knew what Mika wants right at that moment. And she’s certain that Mika needed it by the way.
Mika jumped out of bed and walked into the comfort room. While Mika is preparing and fixing herself inside, Billie, on the other hand, grabbed Mika’s phone. She knows that Kiefer is dead-tired already but this is the perfect-timing para magkaayos na sila.
To: Kiefer
I'm in trouble. Please help me. Nasiraan ako. We’re on our way to Sagada. And oh don’t bother to reply here, just on Billie. Lowbat na ko.
When she hit the send button, she immediately deleted the message, not leaving a trace of her silly antics. Then she placed Mika’s phone back on its original position before she snatched it a while ago. Right at that moment, Mika showed out from the comfort room.
“Bils, your turn.”
“Okay.” All she managed to say.
Upon going, a mischievous smile plastered all over her face.
They are on their way to Sagada. Billie is on the driver’s seat and Mika is on the passenger. Silenced enveloped their air when Billie’s phone rang.
Billie stopped the car and picked up her phone turning her gaze away from Mika who has scrutinizing eyes on her. She knows that Mika is wondering why Kiefer is calling her right now but she can deal with her later.
“Oh Kiefer, san ka na?”
“Baguio na.”
“Okay. We’ll wait for you.”
“Kayo? San na kayo?”
“Sagada na kami in a few.”
“Where’s Mika? Is she with you?”
“Yes. Ingat.”
“Ingat kayo. Wait for me. Malapit na ako.”
Billie hang-up then returned her gaze on Mika.
“Sometimes, you just need a break in a beautiful place, to figure everything out. I was quiet Mika because silence is better than telling you bullsh*t, but I was not blind. Seeing you in pain brings me pain also. I’m your friend Mika.”
“Pain? Haha. You’re being funny. Im totally fine, can’t you see?” Mika said faking a laugh.
“The worst lies are the lies we tell ourselves Mika. Wag mo akong gawing tanga.”
“You don’t have a right to do this Billie.” She uttered those words in morose way.
“Ye, you need to heal. And if healing you requires hurting you again, I am willing to hurt you even if it pains me as well.”
“Wala kang alam kaya pwede ba? Stop acting like you know everything.” Mika shouted then ran out of the car. Billie was surprised by Mika’s behavior. She didn’t see it coming. She panicked and called Kiefer immediately.
“Kief…” Her voice cracking.
“Billie? What happened? Is everything okay?” He asked her worriedly.
She told him everything what happened.
“Okay. Wag kang aalis dyan. Wait for me then we will find Mika.”
She didn’t bother to respond. The lump on her throat made it difficult for her to speak. Her shoulders moved up and down as she cried inside the car.
