"I'll text you later pag pauwi na ko. Okay?" She said.
"Ang praning mo. Kaloka. Haha. Don't worry, i'm in good hands." I heard her say then wink at us. Dani smiled at her. She then turned around, her back facing us. She murmured in her phone, probably saying something important to her friend. We can't hear her because she keep her voice low pitched.
Dani and I agreed that we won't force mika to remember us. We will just go with the flow. Hindi namin pipilitin si mika, baka may mangyari pang masama sa kanya. We will act in front of her like we just met her.
"Okay na." She said as she make her way towards us.
"Hi im dani." Dani said extending her hands to mika. She smiled while doing so. Nagets naman ni mika ang trip ni dani so she willingly ride the jolly one's trip.
"Hello dani, im mika." She shook dani's hands. But to our surprise, after pulling her hands, she pulled dani in a tight embrace. My sister hugged her too like there's no tomorrow. The longingness is visible to their faces. And in fact, it was such a sight to behold.
After breaking their hug, mika turned her gaze towards me. She then offer me her hand, offering me her sweetest smile. Ngumiti na naman siya. That moment, i swear i am on the edge of melting. Yung ngiti niyang nakakatunaw, yung ngiti niyang nagnanakaw ng puso.
"Hi. Im Mika. And you are?"
"Ah, Ki...kiefer. Im kiefer." I said stuttering. Then grab her hand and shook it.
She then laughed as hard as she can. But she laughs in slow motion. Everything around us is leisurely moving. Every giggle she makes send me to another dimension, a paradise i never knew exists. Every chuckle she throw serves music in my ears. A music that makes my heart dance in the rhythm. I am mesmerized seeing her laughing, holding her stomach, struggling to breath. Her face is now tomato red but the sight for me is picture perfect. My mika is genuinely happy.
"Bakit ang lamig ng kamay mo? Kinakabahan ka ba?" She said cutting my daydreaming. Then everything went back to normal. Anong nangyari? I was taken aback by unfamiliar feeling.
I gave her a blank stare. I dont know what to say. Maski ako nagulat rin.
She just shook her head sideways as she is struggling to supress her laughter all to herself. Even dani, natatawa na rin. I just grin coyly in front of her. In fact, kinakabahan nga ko kanina pero nawala nung tinawanan niya ko. Mas nangibabaw yung hiya ko sa kanya. Kalalaki kong tao pero daig ko pa high school girls kung makaarte. I sighed in defeat.
"What you girls want?" I just asked them as they can't stop themselves from throwing their meaningful glimpse at me.
They stop. Stood firm and took a deep breath before answering.
"Fries dipped in ice cream!!!" They said in unison. They looked at each other realizing what they just said is alike. A moment of silence for us then they exchanged high-fives.
"Parehas talaga kayo ah." I said. Im happy to see my girls that way.
"Jollibee manong." Dani said pouting. I looked at mika to see she's smiling like a little girl.
"Okay. Dinner at jollibee requested by my princess." I just said smiling, looking intently at mika.
I pulled dani towards me and put my right arm over her shoulder. She then wrapped her left arm around my waist while her other hand holding mika's. Ang sweet lang namin ni dani, sana may mainggit. I grin with my thoughts.
We're now happily devouring our food. Mika and dani is enjoying their fries dipped in sundae. They were cheerfully adore every taste of their fries, minsan nga eh napapaclap pa si mika. Watching them eating so happy, parang ako yung nabubusog. Mas masarap pa silang panoorin kesa sa pagkain ko.
