I stood up to stop myself remembering him. Its killing me. The pain is just too much to handle. Unbearable.
On my way to the villa, i saw him with his serious face. I smile. Silly thoughts popping in mind. Afterall, heartbreak changes people.
"Another bottle?" He asked.
I nodded and gave him a weak smile.
"365th. And thats the last one. I guess im ready. I think its time." I said.
No response coming from him. He picked up the shell thats peeping near on his feet. I stood few meters away from him and silently watched the sunrise. Im in awe. The view is picture-perfect. Its brings me hope that soon, i can get over this feelings of mine. Fresh new start just like the sunrise.
"Is breakfast ready?" I asked as soon as i felt that my tummy rings the bell.
"Yes. Kain na tayo." He utter.
I walk towards him and give him a sidehug. Lambingin ko muna siya.
"I love you kuya. Thanks for everything." I said.
"Your always welcome my princess. Im always here for you." Kuya perry utter.
"Kuya, i want to move on already. Kakalimutan ko na siya. Im ready to let go." I said with determined eyes. Im aware that its not going to be easy, but it will going to be worth it. Ngumiti lang si kuya perry sakin. Its been one year since i came here, storming my brother peaceful life in bataan together with his family. And today, i'll end this. I know he's happy with my decision.
That night, mika called billie, realizing that she wants to stay outside the country and billie is the first person popped in her mind. Billie is a good friend of mika, who's been living in california after she finished her studies.
"Hello billie mika here" she said as soon as she heard the other line picked up.
"OMG mika. I super miss you ye. How are you?"
"Im good. Ikaw? Miss you too bils."
"Fine. Been busy lang this last few weeks. Alam mo na, kinacareer ko ang pagiging working girl. Napatawag ka?"
"Yeah. Actually, i want to ask you something. Can you do me a favor?" Mika said.
"Sure sure. Ano ba yan?"
"Hmm, bils, can i stay there with you?"
"Are you sure miks?"
"Yes." She replied firmly. Theres no sign of second thoughts in her words.
"You know i would love that." Billie said then squealed after.
"Adik. Haha. And bils, one more thing."
"Ano yun?"
"Take a vacation first. My treat."
"You know hindi kita tatanggihan. Haha. I'll file a leave first thing in the morning tomorrow."
"Thanks bils. You the best as always. Love you."
"Thanks ye." Then she hang-up.
Naeexcite ako to hear billie's respond. The moment i called her and asked her help, she didn't even nudge to have a second thoughts. She agreed willingly.
After that call, i immediately packed my things. Luluwas na ko ng manila para makapagbonding with my family. I know matatagalan ako sa california kaya susulitin ko na habang nasa pilipinas pa ko.
The next morning, i bid my goodbyes to kuya perry and his family. I also thanked them for accomodating me for one year. Sinabi ko rin sa kanila na pupunta na kong california para mas mabilis ang recovery. After all the dramas, umalis na ko.
I decided to checked in sa hotel for a meantime. Napagod ako sa byahe mula bataan. Bukas na lang ako uuwing bulacan. Then i remember, wala pa pala akong pasalubong sa kanila lalo na kay miko and mikole.
Nagpahinga muna ko and took a nap. Gabi na ko nagising. Then i fixed myself. Pagbaba ko sa lobby, i asked the receptionist kung may driver on duty pa, and she said yes.
Nagpahatid ako sa malapit na mall. On our way there, nagkwentuhan kami ng driver. He is sean. Bata pa, same age kami. Good looking and malinis tingnan. I learned that he support his family because his mom and dad were already gone.
When he parked the car, i asked him if he can accompany for a while. Para naman may katulong ako sa bibilhin ko.
"Ate mika!"
Were busy strolling around the mall when i heard someone shout my name. Its dani's voice. Im sure of it. Di ako pwedeng magkamali. I stiffened. Pano ko haharapin to?
"Ate I miss you." She said almost crying. She then hugged me tight.
The moment she hugged me, i swear, my knees became jelly. Damn! I super miss this girl. Pero nakita ko si kiefer behind dani's back. And i felt a pang in my chest. All the heart aches, bumalik sakin.
"Ah eh miss, okay ka lang?" I asked dani. I was puzzled kung bakit yun yung nasabi ko. Hindi ko rin maintindihan. Maybe, because the pain im feeling right now is overwhelming. Naguguluhan ako. Pero nasabi ko na. Papanindigan ko na lang, just go with the flow and see where it will lead me.
"Miss? Ang formal mo naman ate eh." Dani said back.
"Sorry miss. Di kasi kita maalala." I uttered.
Dani froze. Kiefer too. He was meter away from them kaya kita niya ang reaction nito.
"Ate mika? You're joking right?" Dani asked her once again. She's in the edge of breaking down, mika knows. She can't believe it herself that she can do this. Guilt hit her. But she's in pain too.
"Ah miss, pasensya na ah. Pero kailangan na naming umalis." Sean said. Maybe he noticed that im in trouble, thanks god.
"Wait. Tissue oh. Sorry ah." I said then give dani some tissue for her to wipe her tears.
I can hear dani's sobbing habang papalayo kami. Nakokonsyensya ako sa ginawa ko. Pero wala na, napasubo na ko. Wala ng bawian, papanindigan ko na lang.
"Im sorry dani, nadamay ka pa." I said to myself silently.
"Sino yun? Kilala mo?" Sean asked me.
"No." I said.
Pagkatapos naming bumili ng pasalubong, bumalik naman kami agad sa hotel. I thanked sean for helping me.
That night, i barely slept. I know i hurt dani. Hindi dapat siya nadadamay sa ginawa sakin ng kuya niya. Wala siyang kasalanan. Guilt devouring my whole being. Im in pain. And so was dani.
The next morning, pumunta na kong bulacan. Billie called me that expect her in 5 days.
