They say my grandfather, Germain VII was a benevolent king; beloved by all the people from the lowest of commoners to the highest of lords. They claimed he'd open his many palaces during the winter for those who didn't have anywhere to go, when there was a food shortage he made sure his subjects ate before his family and went out of his way to make sure that no one in Zeltemi went hungry.... When he died, he left the throne to my grandmother, she was the opposite of my grandfather, the people hated her, but the options were between my grandmother and my dad, seeing as how he picked my grandmother you can see what my grandfather thought of his sons Germain and Gervasius. My brother Germain was more like my grandfather... the people loved him and it really didn't surprise me in the slightest; when our mother died... even before then Germain had always looked after me and Genova, he was our protector and the quickest way to piss him off was for someone to pick on someone who was deemed weaker or less fortunate. Germain would be a good king, but that probably wouldn't happen for a long, long time given how long my grandmother sat on the throne. I looked at my big brother who was pacing around, my thoughts divided between Germain and Uziel..... the fact that he was still on my mind was impressive, usually because I forgot about you as soon as you made me nut, so the fact that he was on a very short list of dudes who have left an impression was.....

"So have you met Genova's betrothed?" I asked breaking his pacing, the was a flicker of irritation that passed over Germain's face before he let out a low sigh and shook his head. "I thought it was your responsibility to know all the men under your command... that's not a good look General." I said smiling.

"He's not... he's not a member of the royal military, his father is.... and his father is making it a point to hide this particular son; no photos, no information on his at all.... it's weird but whenever I bring it up to dad he brushes me off. When I'm king, that's the first rule that's going.... it's bad enough that I'm being forced to marry a woman I don't love but to force that on Genova." Germain said and I could see the anger boiling behind his eyes.

"I'm not sure if I should be offended that dad set up matches for both you and Genova, yet let me just run wild.... maybe he knows I'm a lost cause." I said playfully, Germain rolled his eyes and finally sat down.

"You should count yourself lucky, the woman they selected for me is from the country as our beloved stepmother... I know you've heard the rumors about the woman from that country... extremely beautiful but cold... calculating..... witchcraft in their blood. The smallest country yet the one all the others fear above all else." Germain said and I was just thankful my gay ass didn't have to worry about that shyt. "So.... how is America?" Germain asked just as Genova walked into the room.

We spent the entire night and most of the morning catching up, the more they talked the angrier I became, my dad was a fuckin menace and the fact that he was about to become king was terrifying. Finally, exhaustion set in and we went our separate ways, as soon as the funeral and coronation were over and done with I was hopping on the first thing smoking and going back home. I feared for my people, more importantly, I feared for my brothers and sister... the people of Zeltemi just had to deal with one tyrant in the form of my grandmother, my father was worse and it was only a matter of time before they revolted. Maybe I was being too hard on my dad, maybe he had softened up in my exile... though I seriously doubted it. That became our nightly thing, the three of us sneaking off to our secret room just to talk and every morning I woke up to a text from Uziel which was unexpected but appreciated. He didn't say much, just that he wanted to see me and check on me, we spent most mornings getting to know each other but it was the same as physically seeing him. Honestly, I wanted to see him as well; but duty came first.... with my luck by the time I got back he'd be in a whole relationship.

"Prince Gemini, it's your duty to greet the nobility that has traveled a long way to pray for your grandmother's recovery... You can't lock yourself in your room." Blair said walking into my room, I looked at him and turned towards the window. "Do you really want to do this Gemini?" He asked.
