As I sat on the bus on the way home I tried to put today's recent events behind me. There was no point of being angry if it wasn't going to change anything.
My phone vibrated from my pocket and I slid it out seeing Harry's name.
"Hey."
"Hey where are you?"
"On the bus why?" I asked.
He chuckled. "Because I'm outside the school waiting for you."
"Waiting for me, why?"
"I thought I told you I'd pick you up."
"Shit Harry I'm sorry. I got distracted..."
"It's alright. Can I come over then?"
"Yeah, of course."
"See you soon love."
"Okay, see you soon."
I hung up and pulled out my headphones. I looked for the rockiest and loudest song I could find. My whole not thinking about it sure wasn't working. I was still so angry that bitch somehow how thought it was okay to throw Liam's name in my face like that. Have some damn respect. If you don't of me then fine but don't go saying that about him.
Oh and then what that guy said was disgusting. None of these people have spoken two words to me before and now they somehow feel they have the right to say stuff like that to me? That guy basically called me a slut. How pleasant, I mean that is just what I wanted to hear. I can't believe I have to deal with this everyday now.
Thirty something minutes later I got off the bus and made my way home. Harry was sitting on the doorsteps on his phone. He was wearing a light gray tee and the black pants he so frequently wore. He had on his ray bands and his face showed a wave of determination and concentration. Instantly, my day was made a little better.
"Hey stranger." I called out.
"Hey." He tucked his phone into his pocket.
I walked over to him and he opened his arms. As I stepped into arms he asked, "How was today?"
"You know don't you?"
"It's kind of hard not to." He said, letting out a small chuckle.
"I don't think it's very funny."
"Of course it's not. I'm only saying."
Opening the front door and kicking off my shoes, I said, "Well girls are mean and guys are dicks."
"Don't listen to anyone of them okay?"
"I didn't plan to but then again ignoring someone throw Liam's name in my face is kind of difficult."
Harry's face changed to serious. "What?"
"Never mind, don't worry about it."
"No Ellie what'd they say?" He persisted.
"She just said something rude, Harry. It's fine, really. I forgot what she said."
Opening the fridge, I pulled out a pitcher of lemonade. After pouring some into two glass cups I handed one to Harry. "Can we please forget about it? I don't want to think about it anymore."
He sighed. "Alright." A minute or so later, he added. "Actually I came over to talk to you about something else."
I put my hand over my heart dramatically. "Are you saying you didn't come to check up on me?"
He laughed. "Oh course I did babe. There's just a second thing as well."
I smiled. "Okay, what is it?"
"Your birthday."
"Oh yeah. That is coming up isn't it?"
He shook his head. "So funny but seriously what do you want to do?"
I thought about giving him a sarcastic response and telling him I want to go to Madrid but knowing Harry he'd take me seriously. Somehow, in a matter of two weeks he'd find a way to make it happen.
"We could go dinner or something? Maybe with the rest of the guys too?" I said instead.
"Is that all you want, just dinner?"
"Yeah and then we could come back and watch Dirty Dancing again." I said with a grin.
He chuckled again and threw one arm over my shoulders. "What, no Pride & Prejudice?"
"Well I don't wanna cry on my birthday so."
"Good point."
"Besides, you know you like Dirty Dancing too."
"I do not. I watch that movie for you."
"You so do not!" I exclaimed.
"Maybe only a little..."
"Yeah that's what I thought." I kissed his cheek.
"You know, if you kiss me every time I agree with you then I might have to start doing that more often."
"Yeah you just might." I added, kissing him.
Harry smiled into the kiss and said, "I don't know if I'll ever get used to this."
"Well I think I'm already starting to get used to this so-
"Oh trust me I'm not complaining."
My phone beeped, separating us.
