Chapter Nine

We pulled into a little restaurant known as Sunflower Café and the now familiar huge weight in my chest returned. Liam and I used to come here all the time. It was the perfect distance from both our houses and my school wasn’t too far away. It was just a couple of weeks ago we came here last.

“Liam I have school.” I reminded him as I shut the door behind me. He was driving me to school today and at the last second decided he was hungry and wanted to go out to breakfast.

“So?” He threw a wink my way and smirked.

“So… I can’t just ditch. It’s the fourth day of school.”

“Come on you never miss a day and we’re always on time. Let’s be a little rebellious today.” He argued grinning mischievously. I was honestly surprised by his sudden need to break the rules. I wasn’t used to seeing Liam like this. In fact, it was very rare he didn’t keep to his schedule. This was all refreshing abnormal for us. We didn’t really do things like these. We were a safe couple to say the least.

“You want me to be a rebel?” I asked playfully.

“Only my rebel.” Liam whispered in my ear as he walked behind me and put his arms around my waist.

“We both know we are possibly the safest people in the universe.” I said as I put my hands over his.

“Nah, we just have a different timing for our spontaneity.”

Laughing I asked “Spontaneous, huh?”

“Oh yeah, let’s be young and wild.”

“Young and wild?”

“Yes, just you and me.”

“Liam, I am everything but wild.”

“As am I but what’s life without a little adventure? We never do this stuff.”

“As long as you don’t get us arrested.” I said smiling back at him.

“I am Liam, the responsible one unlike like all those goofs. I would never get you arrested. Have some faith in me woman.”

I giggled. “Trust me I have faith in you.”

“How so?”

“I just know you’re going to go so far in life. You’re just starting Liam and look at all you’ve accomplished. I’m so proud of you.”

“Thank you, El. It means so much to me.”

“You’re welcome, you make it easy to believe in you.”

“You’re something special, you know that right?”

“I’ve been told.” I answered cheekily.

He chuckled.

“Seriously though, what movie has you so inspired that you are trying to convince me to not go to school?”

“I’m not asking you to not go to school. I’m just asking you to be a little late and spend time with your extremely handsome boyfriend.”

“I won’t argue with that, you are quite charming.”

“That I am.” He said as his arms gave me a squeeze.

He kissed my cheek. “I’m hungry love.”

“Okay let’s go in so you can buy me breakfast.”
