~Pearson's POV~

"Woods, you're so stupid!" I heard someone shout then a really harsh smack, "Oww!" Another shouted, who I'm assuming was Woods.

That's quite a fun thing to hear as soon as you wake up.

I sat up and held my head in my hands, my head felt like it was pounding out of my skull. Everyone turned around then Matt walked over.

"Hey, hey... Take it easy, no need to push yourself." Matt told me, he placed his hand on my shoulder as he crouched down

I glanced around the room, landing on Paul. Something was wrong, "You're back? So where's Donte?" I asked.

Paul sighed while fidgeting with his fingers, "He... was captured by the guards, and we didn't get the keys."

"God damn it." I groaned in frustration as I rubbed my face in my hands, "We also lost the screwdriver." Sam added.

"The screwdriver isn't important, I can just unscrew things with my powers." I shook my head then got to my feet as I spoke.

"So what now? We don't have the keys and we're missing a person, how are we getting out?" Tanner pondered.

I let out a sigh as I sat in thought, there's only one person who can get inside that vent and get Donte. "I'll go." I said.

They weren't expecting that, "I'll go with you." Woods volunteered. "No, I got this. Just stay here in case someone comes." I said then climbed onto the bench.

I was about to climb into the vent when someone spoke up. "Hold on, there's something you need to hear..." J-Fred began to say, I stopped what I was doing and looked at them.

"A scientist came by before you woke up, he said his name was Chekai. He said he felt bad and was willing to help us." Connor told me.

"What would he feel bad about? And what do you mean by help?" I questioned, "He gave us this." Woods held out the box, it was gray and looked like it was made from plastic.

As I grabbed it, a confused look spread across my face. "What's this?" I questioned then opened the lid, inside was a bunch of syringes that almost looked like epi-pens.

"It's some sort of vaccine, he said that you'll need to inject it into you when black veins begin to show." Bailey said.

"Inject? Yeah... not gonna happen. I don't think I can trust this dude." I scoffed then shook my head as I passed the box back to Woods.

"Are you sure you want to go alone?" Cathrine asked, "Yeah, I'll be alright." I nodded then pulled myself up into the vent.

I had enough room to maneuver myself up before leveling out. There was a faint light far down the vent, the quiet sound of metal clanking filled the dark void as I crawled forward.

As I grew closer to the faint light, I noticed that there were holes for air circulation. Even though I couldn't fit through, but I could still see.

It was a cafeteria, my friends were sitting in groups of three or four. Matt, Catherine, Woods and Kevin were sitting together and talking, almost as if they were concealing their conversation.

Some guards walked over to Woods and began talking to him, then he was suddenly thrown onto the floor. Matt and Kevin went to help him but froze when other guards aimed guns at them.

A guard harshly grabbed Woods' wrist, "Hey! Let go of me!" Woods shouted as the guard began to drag him away.

Damn it, that's another thing on the list.

I quickly but quietly began following Woods and the guard, they went into what looked like an operating room. There was a vent cover I could unscrew to get inside the room so I just had to wait until the guard's back was towards me.
