Chapter 14: The Apple ii Stakeout

~Pearson's POV. March 1st, 2021~

Matt and I were sitting in Mega Desk, he wanted to show me something on reddit.

"What the heck?!" I almost shouted, "Look, it's funn-'' Matt was cut off by the phone from the LAPD case.

"I'll message Sam and Woods." I slid my phone from my pocket and started messaging them. Just as I hit send, Woods walked through the front door.

"Well, there's one." I said, which made Matt laugh.

"What are you guys talking about?" Woods asked as we heard someone walk down the stairs.

"So six minutes ago, two texts." Matt sighed as he showed the phone, "Have we even made a decision on what we're going to be doing?" Woods asked.

"No, why would we...?" Matt began to say but stopped when Sam appeared in the doorway with the camera rig on her shoulder.

"Hey." Sam waved with her free hand.

"Hey, so Syphus... For new viewers, this is the founder of a company that used to own the entire building, ample amounts of malpractice with these scientific experiments that they were running. Evidently we have some of his property and a lot of that stuff that is our property, is our stuff that he wants which is just ridiculous." Matt spoke to the camera.

"So what are the messages?" I asked.

Syphus: Time's up. You had plenty of time to make your conclusions about what you found in my car, I need an answer NOW.

Syphus: And don't waste my time by trying to stall again, at this point it's just embarrassing.

"The reason we were stalling last time was because he wasn't giving us any information, and he still really didn't really." Sam stated.

"How do you navigate conversations like that, which is about information. How is this supposed to work because what else can we do other than him or me go first, I'm not going first." Matt said.

"It's sketchy because of the fact that he can't give definitive answers and so that makes me think, are we going to give an actual answer to this guy like is that an equal trade?" Woods commented.

Matt: I'm not stalling, it just takes time to figure this out.

"Exactly, we still don't have the full picture, but I think that yes, our knowledge of what this world is or was is a lot more full, we know who Wesley is and we know more of Deborah and Nelson's working relationship." Sam said.

Syphus: Typical, you have been busy though haven't you.

"There's an auto response right here that says no with a thumbs down... I really want to press that." Matt told us, which made us laugh.

"So what do we think he means by you guys have been busy?" Sam asked, "Investigating and uploading to Youtube." I responded.

"Well right now, he hasn't seen the last three videos of ours." Sam stated, "He probably knows that we've been interacting more with Deb, maybe he's scared that we've dropped things to the LAPD officer." I said.

"And he's probably watching us too, like other than the videos." Woods stated.

Matt: Are you watching our videos?

Syphus: I would be a fool if I wasn't. As much as I can.

"Did he just make fun of our upload schedule?" Woods questioned.

"No, I think it has more to do with "It's hard to watch this" but I don't know." I shrugged, "Oh, so now he's trying to insult us at every corner?" Sam raised an eyebrow.
