Sidney was there for his 'last moments'. Nightmare's breath was shallow and the cyan glow she'd grown to love was all but gone, leaving an empty blackness that goop leaked out from. When he took his last breath, she lost it, crying and clinging to the goopy mass that'd been her husband, who'd regrettably only loved her for a short time. The remaining mass never melted away in her arms though, it remained rather solid, actually. This confused Sidney. She scooped away the sludge to see white. White bone, to be exact. "Holy shit..." Nightmare was alive! But not for long if she didn't clear the goop away. She dutifully started to scoop and wiped the tar like material from the area his mouth should be. When she finally got there and started cleaning out his mouth, he gasped and sputtered. She watched, in case anything else was wrong, but his breathing had evened out. He was still unconscious, but alive. Better than he was earlier, that was for sure. "I should clean you up before that happens again though.." So she carefully carried him over to the shower and turned on the water. The blackness gave way to a skeleton clad in purple. It was the Nightmare from the story, the one thought to be dead. She somehow brought him back.

After striping Nightmare down and wrapping him up in her bed, Sidney started on washing his bedding of the black ooze. She wasn't sure what to expect when he woke up. Would be be childish? Would he be the same as in his corrupt form, only nicer? He'd been known as a rather serious and mature individual. Maybe that's what she should expect. Would he remember the last 500 plus years? Would he only remember to when he bit the first apple? She didn't know. She checked on him hourly while she worked on everything. Soon his bedding and clothes had been washed, dried, and remade. She showered herself and checked on him again, setting his clothes down for him to change back into. "Nightmare has been.. reborn..? How did this even happen?" She muttered as she started lunch. She glanced around thinking about it, the castle should've started to crumbled if he was dying, right? It WAS made of his magic and if he had actually been dying it should have been crumbling, right?

Nightmare POV

I was confused, at first. Where was I? What happened? I sat up quickly, only for my to fall back at the pounding in my skull and vertigo. "mmm" I whined, trying to keep my suffering concealed. When it faded, I took it slower, tried again. Not so much pain and dizziness this time. That's when I noticed two things. One, I wasn't corrupt anymore... well, that wasn't entirely true. It was still leaving my body. It may be a few days yet before I was fully cleansed. Two was that I was naked. "o-oh had sidney-" No. She wasn't that type of person. Looking around the room, I realized it was Sidney's. I also noticed my clothes in a neat pile on her nightstand with a note attached. I washed your bed and clothes of the goop, sorry for the inconvenience! ♡ Sidney "this is rather convenient, actually.." I continued to take it slow as I got up and changed. Feeling something drip from my sockets, I dabbed at them to see the corruption. Just as I thought. 'Now I'm Killer, I guess.' I chuckled lightly at the positively silly thought. I left the room, walking into the hallway.
