(Y/n) speedily walked away from the scene, her heart racing against her ribs when she realized what she had done.

'What on earth is happening to me'

She bumped into Mina in the midst of her thoughts, sparking a conversation about what had happened earlier.

"Can you believe it, it's honorable but I still can't imagine doing what Ogiro did myself"

"... oh yeah, it's crazy"

(Y/n) had absolutely no idea what Mina was talking about, and Mina could easily tell.

"You know, how he withdrew from the finals even though he made it.

"Wait seriously, why?"

"You know (Y/n), you need to pay more attention to your surroundings, it's like your constantly in your own world"

They started to get in line to get lunch for themselves.

"I mean come on, your one of the strongest in the class, I'm sure you'd be number one if you'd just be more observant"

She blushed at this, not knowing whether to thank her for the compliment or to defend her ability to know her surroundings.

"I'm plenty observant! Maybe you just don't pay enough attention to other things that I am"

She was entirely joking, it's why (Y/n) and Mina were able to get along whenever they talked. They were both able to tease each other and let it go in an instant, ever since what happened at the boba tea shop they had become quite close, (Y/n) getting an inside scoop to all the tea from the class in exchange for Mina being aloud to tease her relentlessly about (Y/n)s relationship with the dual hair toned boy. Speaking of which...

"Other things being Todoroki?"

While she hasn't admitted her growing feelings to anybody yet, not even to herself really, it doesn't mean she could have hidden the dark blush that spread across her face, obvious to Mina and probably anyone else.

"Mina! I told you it's not like that between us"

"I never said anything about something being between you guys, why, is there"

Mina wasn't expecting any form of a satisfying answer, and (Y/n) certainly wasn't expecting to give her one. So I guess they were both in shock.

"I don't know"

The two got quiet, they walked to the front of their line in silence, only breaking it when they sat down to eat.

"So do you like him?"

(Y/n) was already in too deep, she figured she might as well just admit it.

"I think so, but I'm not 100% sure yet"

"I get that"

They focused on their food and waited for the match ups to be posted, simply because nothing else needed to be said. They heard a sudden silence and both looked up to see a chart on the big screen. They swallowed nervously as the two girls scanned for their names.

(Y/n)s heart skipped a beat when she saw her own name paired up with Iida.

'Alright, this can either go really well, or really bad'

Iida certainly a strong opponent, and everyone knew it, so if she did win it would be very impressive, but a difficult feat.

Sitting down in their arena seats, they waited for Midoriya and Shinso to walk out into the arena, along with the rest of their class. (Y/n) periodically turned around to make sure she could offer a seat to any of her classmates that were just arriving, but when Todoroki walked through the entrance she noticed that Mina changes where she sat, a smirk visible out of the corner of her eye.

Wordlessly, she waved him over and the two sat next to each other as the match began.

And oh lord (Y/n) was having the time of her life.

She got to see her peers at their absolute best at the moment, using last ounce of strength against each other, from the fight with Midoriya and Shinso alone, she was able to gather so many ideas on how to strategize and different moves to use while sparring, because that's all this really was, just important sparring. Wrapped up in her own thoughts she didn't notice that he had left just as soon as he sat down next to her. She didn't realize this until the match was over and he walked out into the arena.

She cheered for him even though it was pointless, in contrast to the exciting and paced out battle between Midoriya and Shinso, Todoroki wasted no time in freezing half of the arena and claiming victory for himself.

When it was announced that he was to continue on in the tournament, (Y/n) got up from her seat, put in her earbuds, and began to walk towards the entrance.

Back in America, every time she had a match in her middle school hero class, she would listen to music that made her feel powerful while she warmed up. She continued the routine just as habit to bring good luck, unfortunately luck was not on her side. She ran into the #2 hero in the hallway.

(Y/n) stopped dead in her tracks, eyes widened at the sight of him, and even worse, he not only noticed her but started walking towards her. She pretended to be zoned out and continued to walk.

'Please don't talk to me please don't talk to me plea-'

"You, girl"

'Damnit'

She took out her headphones in defeat and made eye contact with him.

'Oh my goodness why is he so tall'

"You're in class 1A right?"

What was this, no was she was being recruited by him, the combat hadn't even started.

"Yes"

"Then you know my son?"

...

'Wait he has a son?'

She had never really kept up with hero's personal lives in America, really only focusing on their quirks and combat skills, let alone Japanese hero's.

"Maybe? Who is your son?"

He scoffed at her. Minas earlier lecture about how she wasn't observant finally making sense.

Just then, Todoroki rounded the corner across from her, making eye contact with her and eyes widening when he realized who she was talking to.

"Shoto Todoroki"

'Oh shit'
'Oh shit'
