CHAPTER 10: TOM CONFESSES

Tom woke up when the babies started crying.  Tom gave them bottles and was rocking them.  Tom said "Babies I know I was planning on telling mommy, but I really don't want to. I know it's just going to upset her. I really don't even know how to tell her."  He thought Sydney was asleep but she was awake. Sydney said to herself I just know those girls hit on him, I hope they didn't try kiss him or touch him. I need to just forget about it.

Sydney was trying not let Tom know she was awake.  She was holding back tears.  Tom got the babies all changed and then rocked them back to sleep. Rubbing their backs.  He said "night my babies.  Daddy loves you so much."  He kissed them.  He looked over at Sydney.  He went into the bathroom.

Sydney was lying on her side.  She let out some tears.  Tom came back and got in bed quietly not wanting to wake Sydney up, cause he thought she was sleeping.  Tom put his arms around her and laid his head down on the pillow.  He could feel it was wet.  He thought that was weird.  he looked over at Sydney.  She had her eyes closed.  He touched the pillow.  He said "that is weird." He got closer to Sydney and looked at her.

Sydney looked at him.  She said "Hanson something wrong."  He said "uh I was going to ask you that."  She said "why"  He said "My pillows wet."  She said "Oh well you must have got some of the babies milk on your chest"  He said "um no I didn't. I'm not wet Syd."  She said "oh well that is weird. Night Tommy."

She rolled over with her back to him. Mainly cause she was hoping he would drop it, and not turn on the light and see she had been crying.  Tom looked at her.  He turned on the light.  He said "Sydney can you look at me."  She said "Tom I'm trying to sleep. I'm kind of tired babe."  He said "I know that but"  She said "Tom please can you turn out the light."  He said "yeah I'm sorry to wake you up."

Tom turned off light.  Tom said "So Syd are you going to sleep like that."  She said "Sleep like what"  He said "With your back to me."  She said "Sorry I just was trying get comfortable."  Tom said "ok."  Tom wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer to him, her back that is.

Tom said "Sydney if you're crying then we need to talk"  She said "Tom I'm fine ok. I love you"  He said "I love you too."   Tom said to himself Hanson you should have told her earlier.  Next morning Tom got up checked on babies and made Sydney breakfast and brought it into the bedroom.  Sydney was getting up to get the babies when he came back.

He said "Sydney I made you breakfast sweetie, why don't you eat and let me give the babies a bottle. You don't  have to nurse them each time"  Sydney said "Ok I was wanting to take a shower after"  Tom said "ok I'll watch them." Sydney said "Tom you need to eat."  He said "I will ok you eat your pancakes and I will fix me some sausage and eggs, when I get done with the babies."

Sydney said "Tom I'll fix your breakfast while you feed the babies,, then I'll take a shower."  Tom said "Ok if you want to."  Sydney said "Thank you for the delicious pancakes."  She kissed him.  He said "you're welcome"

Sydney fixed Tom breakfast, then went in and told Tom breakfast was ready.   Tom took Abby out and then he ate while Sydney sat there with the babies.  Sydney said "Tommy did you mean what you said last night"  He said "about what?"  She said "me going out alone without the babies."  Tom said "Sure anytime you need a break or want to get away."  Sydney said "I was wanting to go into the office for a few hours. I know you're afraid that I'm going to overdo it, but I won't Tommy. I just want to go check in and I mean I've been able to do some things from home, but I just kind of want to go in and sit at my desk a few hours."

Tom said "ok you want to take the babies and Abby and I go with you or"  Sydney said "no I don't want to get the babies out, it's cold Tommy."  He said "Ok you and Abby go, I'll take care of the babies"  She said "Are you sure"  He said "yes of course I am. I was just meaning I'd drive you if you were too tired to drive."  Sydney said "no I'm not. Thanks Tommy. I'll go take a shower and then I'll take Abby."
