CAN LOVE SAVE (A HIGH SCHOOL REUNION JUMP STREET STYLE PART TWO}

CHAPTER 3: HOME

Tom came back after he had ate in the cafeteria.  Sydney said "Tom you are in the same clothes."  He said "I know I didn't go home."  Sydney said "Babe I'm ok. Please go home take a shower and see Abby ok."  Tom said "ok I will in a little while.  Baby I just want to hold you some more.  Will you let me?"  Sydney smiled.  She said "yes Tommy."  Judy said "I'll go let you two have some time alone."

Tom sat in bed by Sydney, and held her tight.  He was kissing her hair.  Sydney said "Tommy I love you so much."  He said "I love you more than I can say. Baby I can't wait to get the hell out of here, and take you home with me."  Sydney said "I can't wait either. Taking our babies home."  Tom said "Right."  

Sydney was trying not to cry.  Tom said "Baby what."  She said "Tom I just wish things were different. I am so thankful that we are going home, and that we have your mom, but I need to be the one to take care of the babies.  I've missed so much time with them."  She burst out into tears.  Tom said "Baby."  He was trying to comfort her.

Tom said "Sydney honey I know you want to but you have to do what the doctor has ordered. I can't lose you. God gave us a miracle baby. Please promise me that you will follow the doctor's orders."  Sydney said "I promise Tommy but I hate it. They won't even know me."  Tom said "Baby that's not true. I promise you it's not. I know you want to take care of them, and bond with them, and you will, but just not right now.  Judy and my mom are going to take care of them, and I'm going to take care of you. But it doesn't mean we won't be with the babies. You can hold them and teach me how to hold them, and feed them."

Sydney said "But I wanted to nurse them."  Tom said "I know that, but right now doctor doesn't want you overdoing it. Sydney you nearly died, don't you realize what a gift we are being given."  Sydney said "yes of course I do, and I'm so grateful."  Tom said "I know it's going to be hard, but it's going to just be temporary ok. If you follow orders, and get as much rest as you can, then soon you will be strong and able to take care of them."  He kissed her.

Doug and Harry came in.  Sydney said "hi guys."  They said "hi,"  They both gave her a hug.  Sydney said "ok Tommy why don't you go on home take a shower, get something to eat, and sit and play with Abby for awhile.  I'm fine, and I got Doug and Harry here to keep me company."  Tom said "I don't want to leave you."  Sydney said "Tommy I'm going to really need you, more than I ever have. I mean not just to take care of me, but it's going to be so hard on me to not be able to be a mom to my babies."  Tom said "Sydney you are their mom."  Sydney said "I know but I won't be able to take care of them. I've already missed out on their first week of life, and all the little things, and the special closeness and bond of changing their diaper, nursing them, bathing them. I'm going to need you to help me deal with it, so you can't get sick on me."  Doug said "listen to your wife Hanson. She always knows what she is talking about."  Harry said "And she's always right."  Tom laughed.  He said "trust me guys I know that."  Tom kissed Sydney on the forehead.

Tom said "ok guys you promise you will take good care of her, and not leave."  They did.  Tom said "Sydney promise me if you start feeling bad you will call me right away."  She said "ok I promise.  But I'm fine. Just weak and sleepy."  Tom kissed her.  He said "I love you."  She said "I love you too."

Tom went home, took a shower, he called and talked to Sydney, then played with Abby and made him and Abby a sandwich.  Then he came back to the hospital.  Tom had stopped and got flowers for her in the gift shop.  Sydney was asleep.  Tom came in the room.  Harry said "hey Hanson."  Tom said "Is she ok."  Doug said "Calm down she's just sleeping."  Tom said "Thanks for staying with her."  They said sure.  They hugged him and left.

Tom sat down and took Sydney's hands.  Sydney said "Hey Hanson."  He said "I'm sorry I didn't mean to wake you up."  She said "It's ok." Tom said "These are for you."  Sydney said "Babe they are beautiful.  Thank you."  She hugged him.  Sydney said "How is Abby?"  He said "She's good, missing you."  Sydney said "I miss her too, I can't wait to see her."  Tom said "She's going to be so excited to see you."  Tom held her, she went to sleep in his arms.
