CAN LOVE SAVE (A HIGH SCHOOL REUNION JUMP STREET STYLE PART TWO}

CHAPTER 22: BOMBSHELL

They were watching the movie but Sydney was lost in thought. Obsessing on how to deliver the bombshell news to Tom.  The more she thinks about it, she's sure she's pregnant.

Judy said, "Syd do you want me to go get Tommy?"  Sydney said, "What"  She said, "you really need to talk to your man, you haven't watched one minute of this movie. I feel like I'm in here alone."

Sydney said, "i'm sorry. I just am scared to have this talk"

Judy said, 'honey whatever it is, don't worry, Tommy loves you. I know you get moody with him, but that's normal. You're a married woman, with 3 babies. I'm sure that single women get irritated with their boyfriends, and married woman get irritated with their husbands, and they don't even spend 24 hours straight with them.  It's going to be ok. Just talk to him." Sydney nodded.

Sydney said, "I guess I need to talk to him now. Or else I will put it off."  Judy said, "I'll go get him, and don't worry. Your hubby loves you. How about I stay the night, maybe see if Booker can too, and then you can just relax and have time with Tommy."  Sydney said, "Thank you."  Judy said, "That way after you talk, if you need me I'm here to talk."  Sydney hugged her.  She said, "I don't know what I would  do without you Judy. I really don't. I love you so much."  Judy said, "Back at you."  She hugged her.

Judy went out.  She said, "Hanson Sydney asked if you would come in?"  Tom said, 'ok."  She patted his arm.

Sydney was crying as Tom came in the bedroom.

Tom said, "Sydney"  She said, "Tommy first I'm  so sorry for how bitchy I've been, and snapping at you, and I feel so horrible like I've failed you as a wife." She was crying.

Tom said, "No you haven't, and you don't need to keep apologizing;."

Sydney cried.  She said,  "Tom I have loved you since the first day I saw you. Even after what happened, and I left town and came here, I never stopped loving you. I never stopped having dreams about you, wishing I could be with you. But I'm so afraid I'm going to lose you." 

 Tom said, "Sydney you will never lose me. I love you.  I'm not going anywhere. I know that a big part of why you feel that way is not only what I did in the past, but also because your dad left you, went out the door and never came back, and I know that stayed with you, and you feel like I will leave you too."

Sydney said, "that's true, but that's not why I think that now."  She cried.  Tom said, "Sydney I love you. I am never leaving you, I am never going to do anything to make you want to leave me. And if you were to leave me, I'd fight like hell to get you to stay. I'm never leaving you. I love you more than you could know. You are my life. Without you my life isn't worth living."

Sydney said, "You don't understand."  Tom said, "Sydney, you're stressed out right? The babies you love them, I love them, they are our life, and we wouldn't trade one minute spent with them, or want our lives back the way they were , but they wear you down, right, they are on the go from the minute they wake up and they fight sleep now, they want to play and eat, and play and crawl, and they when they are tired and sleepy, they fight it, but their body needs it, so they get cranky, they cry, they fuss. Right, They wear us both out."  Sydney said, "yes that's why I'm afraid I'm going to lose you."

Tom said, "No honey. I love those babies more than I can say. They are my life. You and the babies are my world. Honey, I'm sure that every parent goes through this, where they get tired, they get exhausted, they get worn down, it doesn't mean it's bad. Just because your father left that's on him. That wasn't on you. And I'm not like your dad, Baby I know I hurt you, when we were in high school, I didn't mean to, and I had no idea you were in love with me. But I'm not that boy I was in high school. I'm a man now. I'm not saying that I'm the best man, but I'm damn sure better man than your dad. Please believe me on that."
