Karl pov: It had been about half a years since I woke up the timekeeper named River a name he had chosen for himself because in his words exactly "Time is like a river, which means the name River is perfect for me the timekeeper"
It's honestly a bit cringe that he used an old saying to help him think of a name he could give himself while he went to the human world. As I walked around River's kingdom I watch as the clock in the sky all float in the same direction
The oldest versions of clock were in the back as new different versions of futuristic clocks were in the front of the line "I mean he wasn't wrong about it being like a river I guess"
Making my way back to River's castle I thought about how all my friends are doing back home 'To bad I can't leave' sighing at the thought of never seeing my fiance's ever again made me want to cry
'If i didn't go looking for the book then this wouldn't have happened' walking inside I saw another version of me sitting in a king's throne made out of pure gold from different timeline from what they have told me
"Hello Karl did you enjoy your walk" was the first thing they had asked me I simply noded at there question 'I wonder were he'll send me this time' walking over to a near by couch in the room I watched as River look through different timelines
"How can nothing be happening interesting not be happening in any of the timeline" I could hear how River was getting mad but it gave me an idea "Hey River" running over to them with a big smile "What is it Karl I'm busy"
Keeping my smile up I grabbed River's shoulders as I slightly shake him "We can go to my timeline there's always-" as I was about to try to convince River to go there a booming dark laugh filled the room with the ground shaking for a moment before everything went quite
River gave me a big smile as he pulled out his time scythe
"Karl I know why you want me to send you there-" as River talk he started circle me like a wild animal about to attack his prey "but remember your soul is mine after we had made that deal" I slightly shivered when he mentioned the deal
"But" hearing him say but isn't a good thing with how things are going so far "I'll let you go back home until something interesting happens" I smile when they had said that
"Thank yo-" but it was obviously to good to be true if there's not a price if I'm to go home "I'm coming to your timeline as well" I felt scared for how my friends will react to the timekeeper looking like me
"Let's be off them" with that River used his scythe to cut open a portal to my original timeline I came from "This should end well" it was a good thing for me that River doesn't understand what sarcasm is or it's meaning "I know Karl" with that we enter the portal

With River not seeing anything related to fashion in so long they thought that Karl's outfit was good enough for his new human form he needed for rare time he leaves his kingdom
Karl still doesn't understand why River didn't change his clothes to one of the timeline he has been to, because so far the two of them look a lot like twin brothers with only different eye colors and different shaped ears
