After Toph had joined the gaang (in the previous episode), she was still trying her best to get used to the feeling of flying on Appa and leaving her home behind. Katara had been nothing, but understanding, Aang was excited to finally have found an Earth-bending teacher. "Aren't you guys tired?", Toph asked and sensed their constant looks as the gaang seemed quite enthusiastic. Momo yawned at her question, while Sokka was watching him. Katara decided to reply with a kind tone to her voice. "We are just very thankful to have you join us." Aang nodded with as smile on his face. "Yes. And you were incredible out there!", he added, causing Toph to chuckle and appreciate his compliment, enjoying their attention to the fullest. "Yeah, hehe, keep these going, Twinkle Toes.", she grinned and rested her head on her arms, which she placed behind her head. "I learned from the best.", she spoke and looked relaxed.

A small pause passed.

"So, Toph. Who was your 'real' Earth bending teacher?", Aang asked her as he kept steering Appa in the air. Toph, who was now holding onto the huge saddle of Appa's, replied as if Aang had just brought back an important memory. "Oh right! We have to take a stop at the next village!". Aang, Sokka and Katara looked at Toph perplexedly, when Katara took the opportunity to encounter. "But we've already passed a couple of those small villages, Toph. How are we supposed to know, which one it is?", she asked her curiously in return. "Then we have to turn back now!", she demanded annoyedly, pointing her index finger at Sokka, squishing the side of his nose unintentionally. Sokka looked down at her finger as annoyedly as Toph. Aang sighed, "Fine... Appa! Yip Yip!" steering Appa to fly back. Soon they had found a village that fit Toph's description. A small village, which's one half was abandoned. It had no connection to the other part of the village that had lights glowing and seemed livelier.

Toph: "I know someone you can trust. Someone, who can possibly teach you any Earth-bending technique there is.". Aang glanced over at Katara, who wasn't that impressed and therefore crossed her arms. Sokka puckered his lips, trying to look serious, placed his palm under his chin. "Hmm, I'm not quite sure", he was pretending to think very hard about it. Katara was annoyed by her brother's behavior as usual, "We don't know, who that person is. We don't know, where we are or where we are even going. So naturally, we are certainly unsure.". Aang, on the other side, kept looking at his friends and was trying to decide, how to go ahead now. Katara turned to face him, putting her arms down again: "What do you say, Aang?". Aang looked at her and back at Toph, who was staring at the ground with a blank face. Aang: "Where do we find that 'someone'?". Toph slightly grinned at his question, turning her head to face their direction: "Don't worry. I'll take you there."

After reaching the far end, Toph stopped abruptly and all three of the gaang bumped into her. Katara:" Ow! Watch it!". Sokka: "You watch it, I can't see anything!". Toph: "Shhh! Be Quiet!", she whispered loudly and clearly. Toph started to touch the walls of the old broken house next to her and stepped inside, waving for the others to come on in. Appa and Momo entered the ruins of the house as well. The inside of the broken house was completely empty and it seemed like no one had lived there for years.
