Author's POV

A few weeks until Christmas.
Ni-Ki and his family
have been dying to
visit South Korea!

They love the country
so, they have decided
to travel to South Korea
for 2 weeks.
This was going to be during
Christmas and New Year.

"Mum! Have you seen
my sneakers anywhere?"
The young 19-year-old
boy cried out.
"Huh?"

The boy's mother walked
into his cluttered,
clothes on the floor, bedroom.
"Have you seen my sneakers?"
The boy annunciated.

The middle-aged woman
softly shook her head.
"The blue ones?"
The boy nodded.

"Riki, those are at the patio
being cleaned."
The boy named Riki
was a bit muddled with
his mother's statement.

"Because you stepped in
dog poo, remember?
You only did that yesterday!
Anyways, clean your room."
Riki's mother then walked
out the room.

Riki sighed.
He scratched his nape
before packing the rest of
his luggage into his suitcase.
Riki placed his suitcase
outside his room.
He took one look at
his messy room and he
was out of there.

Riki made his way through
the homey and warm house,
out to the backyard.
There stood his father
on the patio, with freshly
clean shoes in his left hand.

"Dad,"
Riki called out.
"Eh?"
His father turned around
towards him.

"Can I have my shoes now?"
His father quickly nodded
and handed Riki
his shoes.

"Have you gotten changed?"
His dad asked.
Riki pursed his lips
then shook his head.
Mr. Nishimura clicked
his tongue before letting
out a weak chuckle.

"Get out of pyjamas please."
Riki's father then trotted past
his son, into the house.
Riki stood on the patio
for a minute, tired.
It was about 4 am.
I know, usually people
get everything packed the
night before. But they're leaving
in 2 hours, so it's not
too big of a deal.

Author's POV

It was now 6:10 am.
Riki was still
as exhausted as ever.
A yawn or two
here and there.

Riki and his parents
had just gotten
to the airport.
They've checked in,
gone through security,
and is now waiting at
the gate of the plane.

His parents were standing
in front of him.
Riki patiently waited, resting
up against the wall.
The line started moving.
Riki was very glad,
and followed his parents
onto the aeroplane.

After a few minutes,
they found their seats
and we're now sitting down
waiting for the plane
to take off.

Riki wanted to fall asleep,
but was interrupted by
something hitting his face.
Riki opened his eyes,
befuddled.

He then heard a tiny giggle
across from him.
Riki looked to his left
and saw a young boy who
seemed only around 5 years old,
with a mischievous yet
happy grin.
