Author's POVA bright, early morning.
Hot tea cups on the counter,
warm toasted bread with a
thin spread of butter. The hour hand was
pointed at 8 am
when Jay looked up
at the analog clock.
The others in the apartment
had woken up
just after Jay walked
in the kitchen.At the moment,
they were all gathered
together in the kitchen,
either eating or making
breakfast.Jay sat on a stool beside
his friend, Sunghoon,
who was busy with his
own meal. The youngest in the apartment,
Jungwon, walked in
the room to grab a glass of water.Everyone was busy
with their own stuff.
Soon another roommate
spoke up."Hey, Jungwon."
"Yeah, Heeseung hyung?"
Jungwon looked towards
Heeseung with his
glass in his hand."Where did you go last night?"
"Oh, when I left the apartment?
I just went for a little
walk around the building,"
Jungwon explained.
"At 12 am?"
Jay asked.The youngest
nodded his head.
"Ok...did anything
interesting occur?"
A different roommate -
Sunoo, asked."No—actually,
I guess, yeah?
I met this boy, I
think his name was Ni-Ki?
Was it? I don't really remember.
But, anyways, he's staying
in the building for 2 weeks,
I though maybe we could
hand out with him,"
said Jungwon."That's great!"
Sunghoon exclaimed.
"How old was he?"
Heeseung asked.
"Uhh, 19."
Everyone else just nodded.
_______________
Ni-Ki
Author's POVIt was later during the day now.
Ni-Ki was sitting at his room's
windowsill with earphones on.
He was studying his notes
on the language, Korean.
Riki isn't exactly close to fluency.
He can form full sentences
though, and does understand
a bit of what people are saying.
There are just a few words
Ni-Ki can't get quite down."Honey, your father
and I are going to a
cafe down the road.
Do you want to come?"
His mother opened the door widely."Huh? Uhh, no, I'm good,"
Ni-Ki declined, looking
back down at his notebook.
"Are you sure?"
"Yep!"
"Ok, well, text me if you
leave the apartment."
She then shut the door.Ni-Ki started studying again,
trying to get the
pronunciation perfect. He kept on doing this for the
next 20 minutes.
Riki's parents left 10 minutes
before Ni-Ki finally closed
the book and walked
out the bedroom. He opened the fridge,
examining it.
Nothing.
Nothing that turned him on,
nothing that caught his eye.Ni-Ki closed the fridge door.
He glanced around the apartment
before walking to the front door,
putting in his slippers
and leaving the apartment. He had his phone in his pocket
so he quickly messaged his mum
to tell her that he's left
the apartment.Ni-Ki wandered through
the corridors.
Riki may have also wanted
to meet that boy named
Jungwon again.
This was because Ni-Ki
was bored, and also,
he never got the older's number.
