Jolene's POV: Saturday, December 22 2018. In the dorms, 4pm (16:00):

"I'm sorry dad, they won't let us go home for the holidays!" I say to my dad on the phone.

Apparently it's school policy to never let untrained students leave the academy unless they have a medical emergency. Even if someone died they wouldn't let us leave.

"I know it's stupid but I have to go and make sure Daphne took her meds. Love you too. Ok. Ok. Bye" I hang up with him as I flopped onto the bed.

I then spring back up and head towards Daphne's dorm. I balance myself on my walking boot, which I still have. Fortunately, I getting it off today at 5.

"Knock Knock." I say to Daphne through the door.

"Come in!" She yells.

I walk in to see a mess of wrapping paper and boxes scattered onto the floor.

"Did the North Pole explode on you?" i ask, laughing
"No but I need to wrap everyone's presents before the Holiday Party" she says patting a bow onto a wrapped present
"What party?" I never heard of a holiday party here. Was I not invited?
"Every year, the school lets Snake Dorm throw a holiday party on christmas eve where we play games, occasionally drink, and just relax before doing our 'christmas good deed'" she explains.
"No one told me about a party" i say. that's a low blow. throwing a party i'm not invited to in my own dorms.
"Right! Sorry, I was supposed to tell you because the announcement was made when you couldn't walk. My bad..." she confesses. Great.
"Do I need gifts for everyone?!" I start to panic. I don't even know where I would get gifts, let alone what to get!
"Not at all. I just get my friends something every year. Most people don't even get/buy gifts". she calmed my nerves.

"Speaking of gifts, where did you get all these presents?" I question, picking up all the discarded wrapping paper off of a chair to sit down.

"I ordered it off of the school computers. As long as we pay for it they let us order packages and stuff" She informs me, carrying a big box to what I think is her wrapping station.

"Did you take your meds today?" I ask, getting to the point of why I came in in the first place. After the 'incident', Daph was put in a mental hospital for a couple days along with being put into the foster system. Every few days or so, Daphne has an interview with different families, all hero families, from across the globe. None of them seemed to fit for her, so her social worker, Barbra, is working day in and day out to find her a family. I offered to take her in and my dad agreed, but she denied saying that she didn't want to trouble us. We argued about that for a couple hours and eventually I just let it go. She has an in-school psychiatrist who prescribed her anti-depressants and anxiety meds. They kinda work but Daphne hates swallowing pills. So some days, she doesn't take them unless I convince her.

"Not yet, but once I wrap this I will" Daphne said, cutting wrapping paper off the roll.

"Fine, I'll be back to check on you in like 20 minutes" I say closing the door, only to get a face full of flesh. Me and the person I ran into both stumble backwards as we apologize for the accident.

"Sorry" We say simultaneously. I look up to see a flustered, nervous Spot looking down at me with something he's hiding behind his back.

"Jolene! Hi, umm, I gotta go. Bye!" Spot nervously stutters out as he inches to Daphne's door never turning his back to me.

"Uh, oh, ok. Bye?" I say, not knowing what the hell that was.

I head to the school's computer lab and search up amazon.com to start my search
