Making A Friend

Y/N POV

A chill runs down my spine as I hear that voice. I shakily turn around to see Blake sitting on my bed. I begin sweating before trying to make a break for it. But Blake catches my wrist stopping me.

Blake: "Please, don't leave. I just wanna talk."

Y/N: "I'm sorry but I-"

Blake: "Why are you always avoiding me? I wanna know."

Y/N: "Blake please, just drop it and leave my room."

Blake: "No, ever since we met on the roof you've done nothing but avoid me. Did I do something wrong? Is it the way I look? Please, tell me. I wanna know what I can do to get you to stop running away every time you see me."

Y/N: "I'm afraid the only thing you can do is to just leave me alone."

She lets go before sighing.

Blake: "What's wrong Y/N? Why won't you let anyone get close to you?"

Y/N: "I just can't trust anyone, neither human nor Faunus."

I hesitate before lifting my shirt just enough to see the bottom of my scars.

Y/N: "From the time I can remember the world's been mean to me. I'm a Faunus but that side is more animal than man. Because of this people treat me cruelly, they fear what I am. It's not just humans who abuse me. It's the Faunus too. Kinda sad, the ones whom I share a connection with treat me no better than how the humans treat them."

I lower my shirt when Blake speaks.

Blake: "So because of what you are both Faunus and humans hurt you. That's why you run away from me. You fear that I might hurt you."

Y/N: "Yeah."

She remains quiet when I hear her lay down on my bed.

Blake: "Look at me Y/N."

I turn around to see her laying on her back spread out.

Blake: "I'm completely helpless. I don't have my weapon so I can't defend myself. Not that I would even try. I'm utterly defenseless."

Y/N: "Blake what's this abou-"

She sits up before bringing me down in a hug.

Blake: "I'm not going to hurt you Y/N. I don't want you to see me as a person you should fear. I want you to see me for who I am. A person you can be safe around, a person who'll always be here for you, who will love you while everyone else won't, your friend."

I remain silent before hugging her back. 

Y/N: "Thank you Blake."

Blake: "You're welcome."

She tightens her hug and for once in my life, I actually feel safe. Like no one is this world is gonna hurt me. Like I can finally start letting my walls down. I revel in this warm while feeling myself cry. 

*the next day*

Y/N: "I'm nervous."

Blake: "It's gonna be okay."

She opens the door letting me inside. I step inside to become profusely nervous.

Ruby: "Who's this?"

Blake: "Guys, this is Y/N L/N."

They come a little closer which increases my nervousness.

Yang: "I'm Ya-"

Y/N: "Yang, that's your leader Ruby and that's Weiss."

Weiss: "And just how is it you know our names?"

Y/N: "Ozpin give my a list of fellow classmates and the teams they're on."

She eyes me head to toe while Ruby walks up to me.

Ruby: "Well nice to finally meet you Y/N."

She holds out her hand which I shyly shake.

Yang: "Somebody nervous~?"

Blake: "Knock it off Yang. Forgive her, she's weird around new people."

Yang sticks her tongue out as Ruby laughs.

Weiss: "You're so childish Yang."

Yang: "Says the rich girl."

Y/N: "You're rich?"

Ruby: "She's filthy rich! She's the heiress to SDC."

Y/N: "What's that?"

Weiss: "Were you raised in a barn?"

Blake: "Weiss!"

Weiss: "What?"

Yang: "He's kinda new, don't go ragging on him now."

She crosses her arms as Ruby clears her throat.

Ruby: "So... why don't we each tell you about ourselves? So you can get to know us better."

And so I spent the next hour learning about the four members of team RWBY. When it was over we head down to Vale to look around.
