Our little girl was a deep thinker and mature girl from most of the 13 yr olds. Today her English teacher gave an activity on chapter punctuation. The activity was to show the proper use of punctuation marks on poem. Most students just googled the poem. The poem had to be related with old age.
While students were searching for a perfect poem (the teacher allowed them to search for poems if they can't make one. It is online class by the way.) the girl was in her ocean of knowledge to think of what to write. Within 12 mins she wrote a beautifully sad poem which was totally by her not from Google. Even though she wrote the poem by herself she completed the activity first.
The teacher was very impressed and shocked. Our little girl didn't expected a good reaction as it was her first ever poem and she wrote it on her own because she didn't wanted to copy someone's hard work and get the praise they deserve and she was always original not fake. The teacher just asked one question, "Did you wrote it right now by your own in such a less time?". The girl replied, "Yes ma'am I have written it on my own and right now infront of you". The teacher was shocked and asked her if she knew poetry and our little girl replied that it was her first poem ever.
The teacher loved it very much and said these words which motivated the girl to keep on poetry, "It's really beautiful dear. Even I write poems but it is not this good and takes hours of patience to write only 2 stanzas. Also I can't write a good one staying in a totally quite place and get distracted by slightest of noise. I'm really impressed how you have done it in just minutes that too in a noisy class. I suggest you to start poetry and you will go very far in this field due to your poem's deepness and the emotions you display. I wish you the best of luck for your new journey."
The girl was touched by these words. She was always interested in music but never knew that she is even made for poetry. It was like a boon to her. From that day her journey of poetry started. This poem is really special to her because if she wouldn't have wrote it then she would have never knew that she even had poetry in her blood. Let's know the special poem of our little girl. (Sorry for the long intro but as I said it will be like a journey so I'm telling the story behind every poem and this all is totally real.)
Old Phase
There was a time she was told,
Her face was shinny as a gold,
She thought of this time,
When she was on her last line. She had grey hair,
Hiding her beauty which was fair,
She looked at her face,
In the time of last phase. She is too old,
Yet there was a time she was gold,
She had to accept it,
It was all past,
When her life was vast. The face which have eyes deer doe,
Can't do anything but bow.She looked in the mirror,
In her face,
She accepted,
She was on old phase.Summary of the poem: This poem shares an important information with example of old age. When we are young we look good and like ourselves in this time but when we are old, we start to think how the beautiful/handsome face we had before became like this? In the end no matter how much we wish for a good look in old age it won't happen and hurt us only for high expectations. So in end we have to accept it. Just like that we need to accept our fate if we logically know we can't do anything to fix it. By keeping expectations for longer time, we are hurting ourselves. In short the message is - Accept your fate if you can't change it anyways because in end you are hurting yourself by expecting for something you can't get.
