Eunwoo may be ignored, stripped of his belongings and locked up, but there was one thing that they wouldn't deny him - his request for his leader.
Jinwoo was summoned and as expected, he scowled at him as he walked through the door.
He knew he deserved to be scowled at. He'd made such a mess of things; mainly due to the fact he'd done exactly what Jinwoo told him not to do. Jinwoo's anger didn't faze him though. No matter what he did, his leader would always come to his aid.
He counted on it.
He always counted on Jinwoo.
...
Jinwoo seemed reluctant to pull out his phone, but with a little push, he eventually did.
"You're trending," he said with a darkened expression. "Someone filmed your solo performance. No, a few people did. It's all over Twitter."
Eunwoo gulped, "What are people saying?"
Jinwoo scrolled down his feed, "They just want to know who you were singing to. That's it. Lucy's not in any of these clips."
Eunwoo heaved a sigh of relief. So that executive was overreacting after all. Nothing bad had even happened yet. It was just a trending song.
Suddenly, Jinwoo's eyes widened, "Oh, wait..."
Oh no.
He held his breath, waiting as Jinwoo stopped scrolling.
"Hyung! What is it?!" he cried impatiently.
Jinwoo looked up at him and his eyes narrowed, "Did you know about this?"
"About what?" he said, snatching the phone out of his hand and using his thumb to frantically scroll through the feed.
"Fuck!"
Photos, so many photos!
Photos of him and Lucy. Hugging, smiling at each other, walking side by side...
Photos of him and Bongcha. Standing together, casually looking at each other, that awful kiss...
Two new hashtags were trending.
#shipchaeunwoobongcha and #shipchaeunwoolucy.
So, she'd gone and done it.
Bongcha had started a battle online. Everyone was now voting using the hashtag for the girl that they preferred for him to date and the comments were coming in fast in Bongcha's favour.
With a tight feeling in his chest, he skipped the comments about Bongcha and read what they were saying about Lucy. The more he read, the worse it got.
What was the world doing to the girl he loved?
They picked her to pieces. Her face, her body, her history. They researched where she worked, the details of her life and her past.
His head was swimming. There were so many nasty comments, so many invasive photos. It was sickening.
"Eunwoo!" Jinwoo called, snapping him to attention, "did you know about this?"
"What? No! I tried to warn Manager Noh but he wouldn't give me a chance!"
"So you did know!" Jinwoo rose up, his eyes piercing into him like daggers. He was much shorter than him but he had a commanding presence.
"Not before the performance!" Eunwoo explained, "when I went looking for Lucy, I overheard Bongcha bragging that she was going to destroy Lucy online. I didn't mean for this to happen-"
"It wouldn't have happened if you'd listened to me!" Jinwoo raged, snatching back his phone. "I told you not to do anything with Lucy in public! Why'd you have to sing her that stupid song?"
"There wasn't any other way!" Eunwoo cried.
"Any other way to what?" Jinwoo shouted back.
"To tell her..." said Eunwoo, his voice dropping to barely a whisper. "I couldn't find any other way to tell her how I felt about her."
"Idiot," said Jinwoo, smacking him over the head.
It freaking hurt. Not more than his heart though.
He rubbed his sore spot, "I can't reach her, I don't know where she's gone... Can you go and find her hyung?"
Jinwoo looked away.
"Please?" he begged.
"I already did," Jinwoo said in a quiet voice.
He gasped, filled with hope. "Really?"
"Eunwoo... listen, when I found her backstage-"
"She was backstage? Did she look okay?"
"No, she was not okay. What you did really upset her!"
"I know that now... But it's good that you were the one who found her. She likes you hyung."
"What?"
"You took care of her, right?"
Jinwoo stared at him.
"Right, hyung?"
He licked his lips, "Yeah, I took care of her."
"So you'll help me fix everything? Help me make things right with Lucy?"
"How can I do that? The photos are already online. There's no stopping this now. It's out there, Eunwoo, it's done!"
"But we can change the conversation. Bongcha can't get away with this!"
"Is she the stalker or something? Who took all these damn photos?!" he said, turning the phone around to show a photo of Eunwoo hugging Lucy outside Top Tier Bar.
"I don't know, I just caught her talking about her fans helping her. I need my phone. I recorded her so I have proof that she planned this. I can fix this, hyung, help me get my phone back!" he said with desperation.
"Let me deal with it. You need to stay out of sight. At least until the fundraiser is over." He sighed, "Locking you up is so stupid. If I go and get your phone, can you promise me that you'll stay here?"
"Okay."
"I'll be back," said Jinwoo. He left the room, leaving the door wide open behind him.
Eunwoo looked through the open door.
There was no way he was going to stay here.
The whole world could argue about which woman he should be dating for as long as they wanted, it wasn't going to affect him one bit.
No one knew his heart but him.
It belonged to Lucy.
He needed to find her and fix things with her as soon as possible. He needed to see her, hold her, and have courage to tell her the truth.
There were a lot of things that his leader could help him with, but he needed to fix his relationship with Lucy by himself.
