First day being a teaching assistant. Phew, I am so nervous. I am VERY stressed out. And... I am but a baby in elemental magic.

When I first heard I had a job here, I was not ecstatic. When I heard it was a teaching job, I was even less ecstatic. When I heard I was going to be teaching elemental magic, I was downright terrified.

Even though I have Ciel's memory, I have no experience! During the last few days, I had been meeting up with Ciaus at night to practice elemental magic. Caius was the only person who knew of my muddled memory, and I told him to keep it a secret from the others for the time being .

With his help and a few all-nighters that I never knew would be haunting me again, I managed to barely pass the basic level. A lot of it had to do with the muscle-memory of the body. Even so, I've mastered a couple of basic spells till they looked completely natural, but the moment I leave these 3-4 spells, even at basic level, my cover will be blown.

Caius, however, told me not to worry too much as this was only the start of the academic year and it was mainly going to be focused on theory before moving on to the practicals. As long as I catch up to my original mark in about six months, I should be ok.

Thankfully, Ciel's memory contained his learnings as well, so I had a base for the theory in case anyone asked. But I still brushed through a few books as a back up.

I swear this was the stress of the entrance exams all over again.〒▽〒

I was currently in front of the mirror, looking at my handsome appearance. Ah... Really good looking. Young master's features were softer than his brother's though.

The maids had helped me dress up. I never knew putting on a suit could be so complicated, maybe I should only start fiddling with the dresses of this world after mastering how to put on the suits.

I'd opted for a beige coloured suit with maroon undershirt and white ruffled shirt. I'm sure there are more technical names but I have no idea.

I look quite elegant, if I say so myself. I put one hand in my front pants pocket and the other on my spectacles and twirled in front of the mirror.

Who's that sexy thing standing over there?

That's me!

Look at my long legs!

My shiney black chunky heeled shoes!

My gold rimmed glasses that make me look extra smart!

My raven hair!

My smol face!

I look so cute, Oh My God!

As I was striking poses at the mirror, I heard someone clearing their throat behind me.

"Hrmph..."

I immediately put on an expressionless face and turned around in an upright manner. No one could guess my embarrassment... if you ignored my rapidly reddening cheeks. Damn it, you traitors!

It was the maid in her late twenties who had gotten me the glass of water on my first day here. I later found out that the maid's name was Clara and we got along well. I usually brought her wherever I went in the house. You could say she was my lady-in-waiting.

She was holding a trench coat like apparel in her hands, while holding back her laugh. Her red face which looked like it was about to burst betrayed her though.

But lucky for me, over this month, she had already become quite used to my shenanigans. However, it doesn't mean it doesn't tickle her funny bone every now and then.

"Young master, here's your coat." She finally managed.

I still kept my cold expression as I haughtily raised my hands so that she could put it on for me.

She put it on and smoothed down the front. I looked down at her, God knows how happy I was at this moment to finally be able to look down at someone. In the literal sense.

After smoothening out the outer coat, she stepped back and allowed me to admire myself in the mirror once more.

"What do you think? Do I look handsome, Clara?"

I looked at her expectantly.

She looked me up and down and said,"The most handsome, sir!"

My vanity having been sufficiently brushed, I finally set out for the Academy.

My hands were sweating, the carriage was nearing the Academy. I was alone in the carriage, apart from the coachman, of course.

My brothers had insisted on escorting me to my first job but I had politely declined on the grounds that I didn't want to be recognised.

Which you might think would be hard not to be recognised considering the fact that the third Young master of the Heroux family was a household gossip.

But... That's all it was. Even though labelled a so called "waste", Ciel Heroux was still in a position were not many were qualified to interact with him.

Even with the people who were qualified, like the heirs of various prominent families, they haven't interacted with Ciel in years.

After his days at the academy (highschool for mages), Ciel had mostly shut himself off from the world and only attended some banquets and balls, that too only due to the persuasion from Viola.

People had more of an impression of Viola than they did of him. Ciel also had a habit of wearing masks because he didn't want people to recognise him, a habit which I had completely tossed out of the window the moment I came here.

So, quite frankly, there were very few people who knew who the face behind Ciel Heroux was.

As I was wandering in my thoughts, the carriage finally reached the gates of the Academy.

The Academy of Mages was quite impressive. It was like a huge castle. There were lots of people rushing about, students in their uniforms, academic staff, parents among others. It was a type of controlled chaos.

The Academy of Mages was a part of a set of twin buildings, of which the other building was the Military Academy. That was where my younger brother Curtis studied. He still goes there from time to time to give advice as an alumni.

I held my breath as I took in the view. It was really marvelous.

I cannot believe that I'm going to be teaching here. All the students here were either rich or extremely talented. I can already imagine the ruckus they'll cause when they find out that the "waste" Ciel Heroux was going to be teaching them (well, assist in teaching them).

Sigh... Time to deal with some self-absorbed brats. ┻━┻ ヘ╰( •̀ε•́ ╰)
