Natalia:

I wake up on my desk. I fell asleep translating a poem for someone, again. Before I began translating I sent a text to Jordan, I hope he read it. I sit up on my bed, quickly getting ready for school, and rushing downstairs. I collect all of the ingredients for the morning’s breakfast together, and begin cooking. Eggs sunny side up, bacon, toast and a stack of humongous chocolate chip pancakes. My father storms through, grabbing the breakfast and leaving instantly. My mother had already gone; and my brother was going to come down for breakfast in about ten minutes. I grab my bookbag, and rush out the door to my car. Driving to school, I think about Jordan’s welfare. I park my car; walking into school, after holding the door for about sixty people. I turn left, and continue down the dark corridor; until I turn left again to get to where my friends and I meet every morning before class. Andy and Chris were there already, as usual; listening to music while blocking out the world.

“Good morning you two.” I grin. Chris removes one headphone; and lays it on his chest.

“Hello, Natalia.” Chris gives a half-smirk as he retorts. Andy kept his headphones in, and put his music on louder.

“How are you today?” I inquired.

“I could be better, could be worse, thanks.” He acknowledges. Just then, Jordan walks into the hallway-like area. My heart skips a beat as I run up to him and hug him; catching him off-guard.

“Ow, morning Natalia.” he mumbled.

“Morning!” I exclaimed. Jordan takes out his energy drink, and plunks down next to Andy; not paying attention when I try to talk to him.
