Natalia:
I hate being helpless like this in front of Jordan. I tried to stand and walk on my own; ending in me falling down. He catches me, telling me it’s okay. He carries me back to the bench, as I slightly blush. He’s the best person that ever happened to me, the reason I can smile everyday; I wish there was a way he could realise this. The sun begins to set, both of us agreeing it’s time to go home. He puts his car in park, helping me inside.
“Thanks a million.” I remark, and smile.
“It’s no trouble.” He replies, slightly smirking. He leaves a moment later; then I call Luciano’s name. I hear footsteps rush down the stairs; They were too heavy to be Luciano’s, though. The light is flicked on, and my heart drops. It was my father. He begins cursing me out in Italian, and starts walking over to me.
“How could you be gone for all that time, think of someone other than yourself!” He thunders. He takes his hand up, and slaps me with all his might in my temples; I black out and hit the ground with a large, unnatural thud. I wake up, rubbing my head; I had a huge headache. I sigh, and get ready for school. I go to do my makeup, and notice a huge bruise on my cheek. I do my best to cover it up, but it was too dark; I could only make it slightly fainter. I make breakfast, and leave it out for my brother, as I hear a knock at the door; it was Jordan, presumably to bring me to school. I hope he doesn’t notice the bruise.
