Trapped into Twilight

The Meadow

"Hurry up you slowpoke"

I rolled my eyes and trudged through the woods.

I took a look around me.

"Yeah, yeah whatever" I mumbled.

As I caught up to Alex, I stopped and took in the view!

"Wow..."

We were in a medow and it was the most beautiful clearing I've ever seen in my whole life!

"Pretty, isn't it? I came upon this place a few days ago, while I was practicing my super ability to run like a cheetah" Alex smiled and put his hands on his hips as if he did something incredible. 

I laughed.

We were supposed to have a 'date' here, and get to know each other. Then the next time I met him, it would be time for me to meet his family and play baseball... Great! So, I was going to try to ignore my upcoming fates and hurry up and enjoy the moment.

There were beautiful dandilions just springing up from the fields, so I walked up to a bunch of them and started picking them up.

"What are you doing?" Alex asked.

"Making wishes, duhh." I said.

I blew each of the dandilions after making a wish then gave a remaining one to Alex.

"Here." I handed him one.

"Uh what am I supposed to do with this weed" 

"Make a wish, then blow it!" 

"Hah, I'm not 5 anymore, Jennifer."

"Uhhh... I'm not either." I squinted at him.

"Well fine, but I'm telling you, It's not going to become true." 

Alex took a look at the dandilion that I gave him, made a face, then blew.

"What's wrong with your face?" I asked

"Nothing!" He said. 

He seemed to be lost into his thoughts for a second, but snapped out of it quickly.

"Wanna see my super-awesome abilities?" He asked.

"Nah..." I said. "I'd rather-" 

*crash!*

ow....

I tripped on a tree stump and fell. 

I tried to get up, but Alex was already laying down next to me.

"Uh, I was gonna get up ya know" I started.

"Uh, yeah well here is fine. I was getting tired of standing anyway."

I gave him a look.

"Whattt? I'm serious."

I looked away.

"Well, if you say so." 

He chuckled then started picking at grass.

"You know, you could avoid all this." He said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Oh I dunno..." Alex trailed off.

There was an awkward silence.

As I was about to say something, He cut me off.

"Why don't we just... live in this book?"

I looked at him wierd.

"Uh.... What do you-"

"Like.. you don't have to face that scary ol James and Victoria. Just.. avoid coming over tomorrow. Fly to see your mom, I don't know..."

"Yeah but, I wanna go home..." 

"Jennifer, this could become our home! It's not so bad being a vampire for me anyway." 

"But. Think about my parents! I- I don't think that-"

"Listen. Remember Jeffery? From the Cinderella book? At least he got to live the rest of his life as a-"

"As a what, Alex? A servent!"

"Yes, but we're not servents. We could just live here, I mean.. I'd live forever. Then you become a vampire in the book, Breaking Dawn, then we could start a family and, and-" 

I shook my head.

"How about my sisters? Herah and Sarah?" I asked.

"Well, I already got Sarah to agree.. She likes being a cold blood too you know,"

I thought about Jacob as Alex said Cold Blood then I knew for sure, I had to say no.

"But are you okay with me living with Jacob under your nose? He's always going to be there... like... he's not going to give up on liking me, Edward"  

He thought for a moment.

"Yeah, but It's a sacrifice I'm willing to take!" Alex said at last.

I huffed.

"Well. I don't want to live forever, for your information." 

He narrowed his eyes. "And why not?"  

"Because! After that, life's gonna get boring! And if something bad happens? Think about it.. Vampires can't even commit suicide! Not even that-"

"Suicide? Jennifer, you.. You'd actually consider suicide?" He asked.

"No- Not that I.. No! I'm just saying!"

"And what? If something bad happens? What's the matter Jennifer? Why are you thinking so negatively all of a sudden? I'm getting worried for you!" 

"I.. I'm just saying.. Alex. That.. I know that you care for me and all, looking out for my future, but... uh... I'll pass." 

There was a moment of silence when I realized that I was getting tierd.

"Alex, I'm gonna go now... I.. I gotta get ready for that baseball game. Sorry." 

Alex looked at me concerned.

"Jennifer, sorry if I'm trying to get you to do something that you wouldn't do.. It's just that I don't think that this would be a bad idea, ya know? If you don't to, I understand.. But at least just think about it okay?" 

I nodded, then yawned. 

I stood up and stretched.

"Let's go." I said.

We walked back to my house. Alex let me go into the house first, then came into my bedroom right away.

I crawled into bed and made room for Alex.

He shook his head and just came to my side. He took my computer chair and put it next to my bed.

He sat down, and held my hands.

I smiled meekly then closed my eyes.

The last thing I remembered was his smile.
