I glanced around frantically then my sisters busted out laughing.

Alex looked at me, smiling.

"They're just joking around, don't mind them."

"So where am I??"

Sarah looked at me and rolled her eyes.

"You fell out of your seat at Applebees"

"Then why do I feel like someone beat me up???"

Herah sighed, "Probably because you've never come out of a book like that before. The pressure could've taken a big toll on your moral body"

Oh.... I thought to myself, makes sense!

"Okay, well when exactly can I go home???" I asked to all 3 of them.

"I don't know, the doctor said like 4 weeks" Alex said.

Just then the doctor with a clipboard came into the room.

"Jennifer, correct?"

"Bella" I corrected.

"Bella? But it says-"

"Oh yeah! I meant Jennifer, sorry." I had almost forgotten my real name!!!

"Oh okay, so Jennifer... You had a fractured rib, so we fixed it. That's why you feel so sore, and it should all be healed by next month. Don't worry though, one month is the maximum amount of time you'll have to stay here."

I rolled my head.

"Got it..."

"Would you like any magazines or books to read perhaps?"

"Uh... yeah sure, why not." I said.

A nurse then came in with a stack of teen novels and left them right next to my bed with a few magazines underneath.

"Well, if you feel any particular discomfort, make sure to alert us right away."

I nodded really quickly, and the doctor as well as the nurse left.

"Sorry Jennifer, but we've got to go! We have so much homework to do!!" Sarah said, linking her arm to Herah's.

"Wait- you're leaving me??"

"Yeah! Sorry, it sucks to be a freshman in college but oh well!" Herah said as Sarah dragged her away, out the door.

I looked at Alex, who was looking at me.

"Alex, don't leave me!" I pouted.

"Sorry, but I have to go because I have to give Herah and Sarah a ride. They came with you in the emergency car, and I trailed behind with my car"

I sighed, "fine... Bye"

Alex gave me a kiss on the cheek and left.

I sighed again and looked around the empty room, lonely.

As I turned my head, I looked at the stack of books and magazines next to my head.

After struggling, I picked the book on top of the stack and held it in my hands.

"Divergent".

As I turned to the first page, a note fell out.

"I'm so sorry!"

I turned it back around and saw, "-Tris"

Before I could understand what was going on, I felt myself sinking into an opaque, white fog as everything around me started to disappear.
