I sat next to him on the bench and we started playing the duet, Heart and Soul. (If you don't know it, look it up on youtube!)

We started messing around with the notes. I tried not to cry every now and then, but I think that this was the most romantic moment ever. I guess part of it was because I had always secretly wanted a guy to play the piano for me. In front of perfect lighting. And as a vampire. Just kidding. Not the vampire part. But seriously, I thought, How can it get better than this?

Pretty soon, though, I stopped playing around because I knew that it would be time for me to die.

Not really, but you know. James and them.

Which is another reason why I cried; because I knew that this moment wouldn't last forever.

"Edward"

I whipped my neck around.

It was Rosalie.

She was looking at Alex.

"Yeah?" Alex said, not looking at her, still playing with the keys.

"It's gonna storm soon, wanna play baseball later?"

I gulped in the inside.

"Yeah sure"

Rosalie turned to me.

"Do you want to join?"

Although her words were accepting, her eyes seem to pierce right through me.

I nodded and tried to give her a warm smile, but she stayed stone cold, then turned around and left downstairs.

I turned to Alex.

"How do you live with that- that ice princess??" I stammered.

Alex just laughed.

"I promise it's not as bad when you're here."

After he realized what he said, he quickly tried to take it back.
"Not that you being here is bad."

I ignored him and quickly left my seat.

I didn't want to go downstairs where Queen Elsa was, so I went further into the house. Finally, I ended up at a door that seemed to look like Edward's room, and I went in.

Turns out, it wasn't his room, but instead, Carlisle's office.

Not wanting to face Alex's excuses, I sat down at a nearby chair and attempted to read one of the books near the bookcase near his desk to look distracted.

Before I could read the first sentence, Alex came in and closed the door behind him.

"Jen, I didn't mean it like that"

I nodded slowly but didn't look up.

"Come on, say something to me. A few minutes earlier, you were crying and laughing and now you're upset?"

Dang it, I must be getting my period tomorrow I thought

"It's just... It's just because I.. I.. I don't know"

He smiled a little. He came next to me and looked at the book I was holding.

"You know, this is Carlisle's favorite book"

I looked up at him.

He smiled a little more and went on, "He's 362 years old and his dad was actually a pastor that killed vampires. He was a human then, but eventually, he got bitten during a Vampire hunt. When he realized that he became one, well, he tried to commit suicide. Of course, nothing worked. We're basically immortal. So... after, he came to the conclusion that he had to live; he had no other choice, so instead of preying on humans, I guess he became 'vegetarian' and fed off of solely animals."

It was weird, hearing him say "we" when he said vampires as if Alex and Edward was one. As if the reality didn't exist anymore.

"He never fit in with the other vampires cuz of that so he came to live in America. He met me while I was dying and I guess 'adopted' me. "

I nodded again and sighed.

"I think I should... go home now. Pick me up in time for the game"

He agreed and we were on our way out the door when Sarah hugged me goodbye.

"You're coming later, right?"

"Yeah, of course!" I said half with fear and happiness.

During the ride home, we didn't say much.

When we were pulling into the curve, I saw Jacob and his father.

I got out the car and waved goodbye as he drove away.

Jacob's father, in a wheelchair, rolled towards me.

"Hello Isabella"

I, in a hurry to get inside the house to see if my sister, Herah was still there so that I could vent to her about my soon coming falling action, smiled and said Hi back as I walked into the house.

"Bella, how well do you know the Cullens?"

I looked at him for a second.

"A lot more than you"
